One of the greatest gifts you can give your family is taking the time to pre-plan, providing peace of mind with a clear understanding of your wishes before your death. Our counselors will guide you through the decision process and help alleviate many of your concerns.https://catholiccem.com/planning/
Today, we want to share a beautiful new offering! We’ve just placed 2 person companion cremation niches in Holy Angels mausoleum in Resurrection Cemetery. After some remodeling, we were able to place these in a premier location, right in the altar area where we celebrate the monthly Memorial Mass. The niches are next to large windows, providing wonderful natural light that shines in, and giving view to nature, the large Bronze Trumpeting Angels, and the fountain. The top and bottom level are granite front niches. The middle units are glass front, where the cremation urns are visible, and little personalized mementos can be displayed at the time of the placement of the loved one. Several couples have already invested in units. Planning in advance takes the pressure off your spouse and family at the time of need. Come in and we can show you these as well as other offerings for your consideration. God Bless.
Blessed are the servant-hearted who shine with our Lord's teachings. We thank all our clergy for the time that you give, the work you do and the care that you offer. You are a blessing to us all!
Arranging your final wishes is one of the greatest gifts you can give your family when you pass. We are always here to answer any questions you may have! https://catholiccem.com/planning/
If we had to choose two words to describe the members of our team, they would be thoughtful and empathetic. We are so appreciative of their dedication to each family they serve and their commitment to putting in extra effort to make sure you are cared for.
Pray for us, Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary.

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, and we are asking our followers to honor all the families deeply affected by losing a baby during pregnancy, delivery, or infancy by lighting a candle in remembrance of all the babies amongst the stars. There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint in this world.

Today is the Anniversary of the end of World War I. On the 11th Day of the 11th Month on the 11th Hour the war ended. Europe uses Remembrance Day to mark when the war was dead. While the U.S. takes this day to remember our Veterans and how grateful we are for their service to our country. We have many Veterans that work here at Catholic Cemeteries. We thank them and all Veterans for supporting our country, in times of peace and war, in times of hope and sadness. May God Bless our Veterans!
This Veterans Day, listen to the songs that have led our nation's Military! Thank you to all the men and women that have served or are serving in our armed forces. Your service and selflessness is a debt that can never be paid.

A young class from Christendom Academy walked to Resurrection Cemetery yesterday with their wonderful teachers. They had their rosaries and were learning that when you visit a cemetery and pray for those who have died, you can help them get to heaven more quickly! Let us be, as Christ said, “like little children”. Learn from them. Come visit the cemeteries during the month of November, when a plenary indulgence can be gained for a loved one through your intentions, actions and prayers. God Bless!
“Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4
One of the greatest gifts you can give to your family is planning your funeral. Not only does it give you peace of mind everything is already in place, but you can be sure that any extra burden will be lifted from their shoulders. https://catholiccem.com/planning/pre-planning/
🦃 When we think of Thanksgiving, we are reminded of the excitement we felt as kids seeing those giant inflatable parade floats soaring high in the air navigating their way between the tall stone alleyways of The Big Apple! Growing up, there was Snoopy, Ronald McDonald, and Superman, then later, when we had our own kids and grand kids, there was Big Bird, Frozen, and Power Rangers! In honor of the Macy's Day Parade, which parade balloon did you always look forward to seeing floating by each year?
🙏
Look at our special visitor today. He’s riding in style on this sunny November day!
Your donation will support the ongoing care and beautification of our cemeteries. We are grateful for your generosity. Some suggested donation amounts include: $50, $100, $250 or $500 but any size gift matters. Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Omaha is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
Today we welcome the first day of Advent! Remember this prayer as we move forward to awaken our Christian life for the season.

Today we celebrate the wonderful man St. Nicholas, who sold all of his possession and gave his money to the poor. His entire life was dedicated to serving the sick and suffering. We look to St Nicholas this season and encourage you to give to those less fortunate. Giving back to your community helps it to grow, and we can't deny how good it feels to help others out! #StNicholasDay
Our cemeteries are designed as places of peace that encourage prayerful visitation in beautiful surroundings.
🎄 A holiday without a loved one doesn't have to be a somber event that family members stop coming to each year. A holiday is a perfect chance for a family to come together to honor those who can no longer be there. Here are a few ideas of how you can honor a lost loved one around the holidays. Which of these traditions do you think your family will start doing this year?
Take comfort in God’s healing and strength.
We are about to begin the deconstruction, refurbish, and rebuild of the features in the Priest Circle in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 49th and Leavenworth. The feature statues and altars were originally constructed in the 1930’s, with the bronze statuary coming from Italy. https://catholiccem.com/2020/10/20/priest-circle-statue-renovation-holy-sepulchre-cemetery/
Father, you prepared the Virgin Mary to be the worthy mother of your Son. You let her share beforehand in the salvation Christ would bring by his death and kept her sinless from the first moment of her conception. Help us by her prayers to live in your presence without sin. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Today we remember all of those who were injured and lost during the attack on Pearl Harbor. May we honor their bravery and selflessness in their service to our country and its people. #PearlHarborRemembranceDay
You are not weak.
Saint Lucy, you did not hide your light under a basket, but let it shine for the whole world, for all the centuries to see. We may not suffer torture in our lives the way you did, but we are still called to let the light of our Christianity illumine our daily lives. Please help us to have the courage to bring our Christianity into our work, our recreation, our relationships, our conversation — every corner of our day. Amen.

Today we celebrate the baptism of Christ in the Jordan. This is the second epiphany, or manifestation, of the Lord. The past, the present, and the future are made manifest in this epiphany. The Son of God humbled Himself at the hand of the Baptist. By His baptism in the Jordan, Christ manifested His humility and dedicated Himself to the redemption of Man. He took upon himself the sins of the world.
As Catholics, we believe that death is not the end but merely the beginning of something much greater. At Catholic Cemeteries, we care deeply and are committed to ministering to you and your loved ones at an emotional and difficult time. https://catholiccem.com/
Jim Siedlik was with us at the Catholic Cemeteries of Omaha for fifty years, and at the end of December, he started his retirement! Jim is an amazing person that will be missed at our cemeteries! What we appreciate most about Jim is his knowledge of the cemeteries and just how humble he was. He was always willing to listen to new ideas and help in any way that he could. He's a part of our family, and we are so excited to see what he does in the next chapter in his life! Thank you for all these amazing years, Jim!
Lord Jesus may Your light shine on our way, as once it guided the steps of the Magi: that we too may be led into Your presence and worship You, the Child of Mary, Mother of God, the Word of the Father, the King of nations, the Savior of mankind; in union with Your heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit, You are One God forever and ever, amen.

Today may we pray in honor of St. Valentine. He was a kind-hearted ROman priest who aided many young Christians being persecuted by Claudius II. After being imprisoned, he converted 46 members of the guards' families to Christianity! He is the patron of love, young people, and happy marriage. St. Valentine, Pray for us!

Here are a few tips for this Valentine's Day. The holiday has changed, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't make it the best you can. Please reach out to family and friends – you may find out that they are also lonely and appreciate having your love.
