In foster care, something as simple as a backpack can be an important thing for a child or a teen. The schoolyear can be challenging without the proper supplies, and regardless of where students are learning this year, there’s always a need a backpack to keep supplies central. A backpack is part of our “go bags,“ is a first-night suitcase equivalent for kids who are shifted to a foster home without notice. Backpacks are invaluable in foster care.
Meijer of Adrian has graciously donated forty new backpacks to our foster youth in Lenawee County to help with these needs. Meijer provides charitable support to organizations that align with their values, and they are committed to enriching lives in the communities in which they serve.

This is what community is all about! When you have 1,394 lunches being prepared and the walk-in cooler breaks down, we call on our neighbors and friends. A HUGE thank you goes out to Rod Walker from Harmony Baptist Church and Gregg Knapp at @DanielLJacobCo for coming to the rescue with refrigerated trailers. What a blessing!
This crew of volunteers were our distribution heroes for our Box Lunch event. They enjoyed the sunshine while greeting our supporters as they came through the pick up line.
