Hairballs! 😾 Hairballs are common but they are not normal. Believe it or not, there are some cats who never have them! And yes they still groom themselves. All the hair just passes through and comes out the other end, and that is what should be happening.
Hairballs occassionally can be ‘just a hairball,’ especially in long haired cats that do not get brushed regularly. Most cats might have a hairball two to three times per YEAR. Any frequency greater than that could be a sign of a medical issue. A note on the vernacular: cats vomit hairballs, they do not cough them up. Hairballs are generally found in the stomach or small intestine, where they have been known to cause obstructions. (Coughing is also not normal and should be investigated promptly.)

COVID-19 Update.
We are thrilled to report that our test results are in, and it looks like we effectively stopped the spread of the virus. No other team member has tested positive! Our one staff member who has been home quarantining is recovering well with mild symptoms.

Dear Valued Client,
We have an employee who has tested positive for COVID 19. In response we have rescheduled all non-emergency appointments from Thursday, December 10th, through Saturday, December 12th. We have also adjusted our schedule temporarily. We will have staff, who are not experiencing any symptoms, in the office from 7am to 4pm, to answer phones, help process your concerns for your pets' health, and refill your pets' medication. We plan to re-open at our normal business hours, only once we have had the opportunity to test and receive results back for the rest of our staff.
