At our most recent stop along Route 66, our chef really outdid it! Our residents - many of who had never eaten catfish before - enjoyed a full plate of catfish, fried okra, sliced tomatoes, cornbread, and root beer floats. Today we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was a vital leader of the American civil rights movement and a catalyst for change, racial equality, and justice for all.
Dr. King's leadership brought about meaningful progress and his enduring message is a reminder of the importance of servitude. Dr. King once proclaimed to a crowd in Alabama, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?" His call-to-action is more relevant now than it has ever been for our Enlivant community. We have a shared responsibility to help end the pandemic and create a sense of inclusion and belonging for all residents and employees. As an act of service, we call on you to help us protect our communities and each other, and do your part in getting the COVID-19 vaccine when it is available to you.
We are committed to being the change we want to see in this world. We hope you can spend a few minutes today reflecting on Dr. King's message of peace and equality and bringing these ideas to life alongside us. #MLK
Our marvelous Chef has outdone himself again! Chef DeWayne made these first-class meals for our residents on Christmas day. For breakfast, red and green velvet pancakes with cream cheese frosting and spun sugar tinsel. For lunch we had Beef Wellington, twice-baked potatoes, and asparagus. For dinner, a traditional Christmas soup. Thank you DeWayne for making this holiday special for our residents!
We are delighted that Enlivant’s residents and dedicated front-line employees have rightfully been prioritized to be among the first to receive COVID-19 vaccines.
