Associate Professor Ilan Wurman at ASU, representing over 100 bars in a class action lawsuit against Governor Ducey, explained on “The Morning Ritual with Garrett Lewis” the difference between a number 6 and 7 licensed bar and a Number 12 restaurant. A restaurant’s sales must be at least 40% food. Bar owners all paid over $100,000 for the privilege of not having to sell food and are allowed to sell package liquor. During this pandemic Governor Ducey has allowed restaurants to sell package liquor. He has also allowed restaurant bars to remain open while he has closed bars. Discrimination at its finest.
Just to update all our friends and customers..... Charley’s isn’t allowed to reopen until Maricopa’s COVID numbers have been 10% or lower for a consistent 2 weeks. We also had to apply to the health department and await their approval. This has been a nightmare. It’s hard to go into a restaurant with a crowded bar that doesn’t have to meet the same standards but that is how it is. Hopefully we’ll see you sooner rather than later. Miss you all😘😘😘
