As promised, here are the winners of our “Best Mask” contest! The Charter Oak Fund will proudly make donations to: HeartsHerd Animal Sanctuary, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and DAWS: Danbury Animal Welfare Society in their honor.
We’d also like to take a moment to thank the members of our firm who participated by submitting their favorite mask AND to everyone who voted. Our hope was to raise awareness on the importance of wearing a mask, have a little fun with it, and to also give back to some worthy causes!

In recognition of Black History Month, we’re taking the month of February to share some of the most important moments and figures in African American history that have contributed to and shaped the financial industry.
Kicking it off with Richard Allen + Absalom Jones, who in 1787 founded the Free African Society in Philadelphia. Their main goals were to provide fellowship, a place of worship, and financial support for members and their families. When yellow fever struck in 1793, the FAS stepped in to provide comfort and financial aid to the sick while many white residents left the city. By educating newly freed people on socioeconomic issues, the Free African Society were pioneers in helping to lay the groundwork for black capitalism in America.
