Today was the first day of fall!! We are getting seasonally prepared with decorations of gold, yellow, red and orange! Did someone say Pumpkin Latte?
We are all thankful for window visits! Looks like our Executive Director Kirsten Pickle is enjoying a window visit from her son Tommy!! Family is so important!
Hello everyone! Residents dipped rice krispy treats into melted white chocolate and wrapped them up as treats for families doing outside visits!! It's just our way of saying how much we care about our families. We also had an awesome Tailgate men's group where the guys got together to watch a little football, socialize and have some pretty delicious snacks...yes chicken wings included!!

It was our pleasure to deliver coffee and donuts with thank you cards from our residents to Sylvania Township Police Department! These are men and women who don’t give up and work day in and day out with alertness and make sure to keep the people safe in Sylvania.

Today is National Farmer's Day! We did a Farmer's Market Cart. Apples, bananas, grapes, and oranges! Also, some apple cider with cinnamon and sour cream donuts! It looks like Autumn exploded here at Charter! Jackie, our Life Enrichment Assistant made this sign herself, very artistic! Thanks Jackie!
We played our version of Fear Factor today! We reached into a bag and felt something "spooky." Eyeballs (peeled grapes), vampire teeth (candy corn), worms (spaghetti), a witches tongue (sliced banana), and a dead man's hand (glove filled with sand). The laughter in the room was contagious!!
Wow! We are enjoying October! We made pumpkin cookies, painted pumpkins, watched "It's the great pumpkin Charlie Brown", we have also been painting on canvas. Also, a special shout out to Walker Funeral Homes for making a donation to our employee appreciation for National Beer and Pizza Day! We had pizza from Jets Pizza, delivered hot and delicious for everyone! We love and appreciate our staff and residents!
We had a lovely tea party today in celebration of Mad Hatters Day. We enjoyed tea, cake, games, trivia and lots of chit chat about tea! A special thank you to our awesome kitchen staff for helping us get set up and a huge thank you to Sweet Shalom Tea Room for allowing us to borrow their beautiful China!
CANNED FOOD DRIVE! We will be collecting canned food items to be donated to Sylvania Area Family Services Food Pantry! Starting tomorrow, Friday 10/23/2020 and ending Sunday, 11/15/2020. Please just come to the front door and we will take your donation!
