Delivered recently, this was my contemporary take on the classic extension dining table. Crafted from solid Ash, the table can sit 6 comfortably when closed and up to 10 with both leaves installed. High-quality equalizer-style slides allow for the table to be extended without necessitating extension of the entire base/legs, and with such ease of movement that the entire process can be accomplished by one person. A felt-lined interior provides a storage area for the two leaves when not in use, and brass alignment pins ensure all of the pieces sit flush. Simple curvilinear lines combine with soft rounded edges to keep the piece modern but without any harsh angularity, and a water-based finish preserves the natural color of the Ash without the risk of ambering as it ages.
