If you think purified bottled water is just “tap water in a bottle,” then you don’t understand how purified bottled water is produced. Check out this illustration to review the many steps involved to ensure your purified bottled water meets government standards – steps can include reverse osmosis, distillation, micro-filtration, carbon filtration, ozonation, and ultraviolet (UV) light. The finished water product is then placed in a bottle under sanitary conditions and sold to the consumer. The chemical and physical qualities of this water are not the same as those of the water that comes out of the tap. #BottledWaterMatters#BottledWaterFacts #DrinkMoreWater #PoconoChamber

As winter begins, here’s a reminder for everyone. Our immune system gets tested during the winter—and dehydration can seriously weaken our immune system barriers. When you’re dehydrated, the mucous membranes in your lungs and sinus passages can dry out, which can reduce their resistance to infections. Thinking about putting those plastic straws and utensils in the recycling bin? Not a good idea. Most MRFs (material recovery facilities) don’t accept them because not only do they literally fall through the cracks of the recycling equipment—but also plastic utensils are made from inconsistent materials [sometimes #1 and #5 plastic (recyclable), sometimes #6 plastic (not commonly accepted as recyclable)]. MRFs identify plastic utensils as a top source of contamination. In addition, plastic utensils can jam the MRF’s machinery. #EndContamination #Recycling #PoconoChamber
