Tomorrow is National Family Health and Wellness Day!
With the demands of busy work (or work-from-home) schedules, after-school activities, and social media, family wellness can sometimes fall to the bottom of our list.
Here are some ideas to help get your family into a healthy routine:
• commit your family meals a few times per week
• schedule regular family fun nights (or days) and take turns choosing the activity
• hold family ‘meetings’ to check in with each other
• set times to unplug...and reconnect in person
As a BCD Health Partners Care Center, Chestnut Ridge Pediatrics is proud to share that we are now able to offer our patients rapid, accurate COVID-19 PCR testing right here from our office.

To learn more about ID NOW, or to make an appointment for testing, please give our office a call at 201-391-2020.

Is virtual learning becoming a (literal) headache for your kids?
All those extra screen hours are necessary and unavoidable, but that doesn’t mean they don’t take their toll.
Some tips for healthier remote learning:
- set the screen up at eye level to avoid neck strain
- keep a soft, indirect light on behind the screen to help with contrast
- stay well-hydrated
- set a reminder to get up and stretch, take a short walk or simply take focus away from the screen for a few minutes periodically throughout the day

A break in regular routines, coupled with the anxiety of the pandemic, has probably altered your family’s eating habits in some way.
Rather than making your kids’ weight *one more* thing to stress about, experts recommend we focus on supporting kids in taking care of themselves emotionally and physically.
