Without breath work there is no core work, there is no spinal stability, and we lack the ability to regulate our nervous system. If I teach my students one thing it is how to breathe and how to breathe correctly. When we inhale our breath should travel down and move 360 degrees (front back and sides), our PF should relax and our diaphragm moves down as a result of our lungs inflating, as we exhale you can see my PF lift in + up, my diaphragm lifts and my lungs empty all of the air. The baby feels a hug sensation and the support on my body feels so good and cortisol levels go down with deep breathing - added bonus! Take 5 minutes today and see what happens when you breathe, and breathe with intention, keep me posted I’d love to hear! #37weekspregnant #prenatalpilates
We are so excited to welcome Jen Bambrough, PT, DPT to our team at Chicago Physical Therapists!
“I decided I wanted to get into healthcare, physical therapy specifically, because you can have some amazing results without medication,’’ she said. “We have so many problems with over-prescription of opioids and there are really amazing things right inside your body that you can access with physical therapy….And I wanted to be able to help patients to have a better recovery than I did.’’

It is a joy to help pregnant and postpartum women through physical therapy and a delight to see their babies dressed in their Chicago Physical Therapists onesies!!! 😍
Thanks to @mrs.rubado for this sweet pic! Some of you might remember Mikalee, who was our Office Manager before she gave birth :)
We are continuing to monitor city, state and federal policies on Covid. We remain open for in-person treatment and also provide care for Illinois residents via Telehealth! (If you are in Illinois but too far to drive in for care, this is your opportunity to have access to our skilled team!)
Zoom in on pic to read easier 👍🏼
With Covid recommendations in Chicago changing, we want to make sure you know our clinic is continuing to remain open and you can lawfully receive physical therapy care!
We have strict policies in place to protect everyone during in-person treatment such as masks, temperature checks, extra sanitizing between patients, air purifiers in each treatment room, rigorous cleaning nightly and having only one patient in the gym at a time!
Happy 11 Year Anniversary, Chicago Physical Therapists!
Last year at this time the clinic threw a surprise party for Meredy to celebrate the 10 Year Clinic Anniversary! (That feels like a far-away time in the midst of this pandemic, right?)
Meredy started CPT in 2009 as the sole therapist. It has always been a dream of hers to have a team of skilled therapists who can help people with diverse and complex diagnosis’s. Currently we have 8 highly skilled therapists who specialize in conditions ranging from pelvic health to neurological conditions. From sports injuries to spinal injuries. From chronic pain to pain from cancer. From concussions to vestibular issues, and so much more!
It has taken the support of family (some of which are pictured here!), friends, therapists and all of you! Thank you! It is a joy to help you and witness your courage, strength and growth as you heal!
Our PT’s wear N95 masks during treatment and we also supply our patients with one!
We are continuing with extra cleaning and precautions to protect our staff and patients while they receive the treatment they need!

This mom is training breathing and safe core/PFM (pelvic floor muscle) activation during third trimester. The ball is helping her engage her PFM and the band helps bring in interscapular muscles as she has started to present with more rounding shoulders.
