Victims often minimize their abuse to protect their abuser because they feel connected to them. The first step to getting out of an abusive relationship is to acknowledge the existence of abuse and to realize when you are being gaslighted and guilt-tripped.
Today is the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month! Everyone deserve a safe and healthy relationship free from violence! Show your purple this month!

Got to meet Hank the wonderdog yesterday while out filming a project for a client. Hank is the therapy dog at SAGE in Wenatchee and he helps calm children who have been through trauma. He will even go with them to court and comfort them as they testify if need be. SAGE does some important and amazing work for some of the most vulnerable people in our community and it was incredibly touching to me personally to see the good they do. Keep up the good work, Hanky boy!

At Newhouse, we are here to shatter barriers and start conversations around domestic violence + healthy relationships. That's why we have launched our #HealthyRelationships campaign through Tinder the two weeks leading up to Valentine's Day!
Newhouse is #SwipingRight so we can start the conversation on what healthy relationships look like while encouraging friends to talk with each other about the signs of a toxic relationship, what consent means, and how you can safety plan.
