Valued patients, After careful consideration, I have made the decision to reopen my office starting Monday, May 4, 2020. The risks are no less at this time, but social distancing has appeared to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community, and we are taking extreme measures within our office to ensure that the virus does not enter or spread within our facility. These controlled measures are as follows: • Our waiting room will not be open during this time. Instead, patients should pull into our parking lot and wait in their cars. Upon arrival for your scheduled appointment, please call our office at 864.271.9582 from your vehicle to let us know you have arrived. We will conduct a brief phone questionnaire about past and current health (including health of those living with you), recent travels, presence of cough, etc. • You will be asked to wait in your vehicle until your operatory is ready. Once it is ready, we will call you. • Patients’ temperatures will be taken with a forehead scanning thermometer upon entering the building. • Staff members will be disinfecting the entire lobby and bathroom every hour, on the hour, and operatories and instruments will be sterilized as usual. • Our staff will have their temperature taken every morning before our office opens. We will be wearing disposable gowns, N95 masks, and face shields to help prevent the spread of the virus. • Patients will be staggered throughout the day to prevent many people being present and in close proximity of one another. Only one patient will be permitted in the check-out area at a time. In an effort to reduce traffic in our office, we ask that only scheduled patients, with the exception of minors, enter our office during their appointment time. As we move through this crisis, we encourage everyone to take the appropriate precautions to stay informed and to protect themselves and their loved ones. We will be doing everything in our power to treat each of you with compassion and care while implementing the proper precautions to keep all of our patients and team members safe from the COVID-19 virus.
Dear Patients, The SCDA Board of Governors, and the American Dental Association met earlier today, and after much deliberation have made the difficult decision to recommend to dentists across the state to suspend all but urgent and emergency care in all dental offices for 14 days beginning tomorrow, March 17th, 2020. I will be seeing some patients this week, and then will be on call Mon-Thurs 10am -2 pm, starting Monday, March 23rd-April 5th, for emergency treatment only. Rescheduling of patients who are scheduled during the next two weeks will begin immediately. Please know we are very sensitive and aware of your concerns during these uncertain times. We will keep you updated in the future of any further changes to scheduling as we are uncertain at this time of what the future holds. If any questions about your appointment or rescheduling, please call the office at (864)271-9582. Be safe everyone, Chris N Siachos, DMD
Dear Valued Patients, In light of recent developments, we wanted an opportunity to share what we are doing to protect the health of our patients, our dental team, and our community. In addition to the continued practice of rigorous infection control protocols within our office, we have also implemented a plan of action that is aimed directly at both prevention and disease control. Screening patient questions and prevention: Have you or someone close to you had any contact with individuals that may have shown symptoms of respiratory illness, which includes but is not limited to sore throat, sneezing, coughing or fever? Have you have traveled internationally in the last 14 days? Have you visited or occupied any area that the government has determined is high-risk? If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, please call to reschedule your appointment once you or your close contact’s symptoms have resolved. Although we can make no promises, we can assure you that we will work hard to accommodate you and your schedule. Protocols to Prevent Infection and Reduce Risk in your home and daily life: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), states that the best defense against most respiratory illnesses, including the flu and Coronavirus (COVID-19), is to practice the following preventative measures daily, which include: Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces – Within our practice, this is performed daily and between each patient visit. Clean your hands often - Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands. Avoid close contact with people who are sick – put distance between yourself and other people, especially for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick. Cover your cough or sneeze with the tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Most importantly, stay home if you are sick. Please rest assured that we will do everything in our power to keep you and our staff healthy. We greatly appreciate your help in accomplishing this goal and are certain that together, we will be able to provide both the safe environment and the quality care that you have come to expect from our practice. Warmest regards, Your staff at Chris N Siachos, DMD
