Happy 1st Day of Fall! 🍂
Does your car key share a chain with a dozen or more other keys? That’s a pretty heavy load hanging off the car key when it’s in the ignition. The weight, combined with bouncing while you drive, can wear out the tumblers inside the ignition and eventually lead to ignition switch failure.
To add years of service to your ignition switch, purchase a lightweight keychain that allows you to separate your ignition key from the others. Drive with only the ignition key in your ignition. If your ignition key “sticks” when you try to turn on the car, it’s a warning that your ignition switch is about to fail.
If this happens to you, take your car by the shop and we'll take care of you.

#TipTuesday 💡 When your coolant light is on, it means the engine is overheating. But you can prevent this. How do you do that?
Just check the coolant level occasionally. Coolant plays a crucial role in regulating your engine's temperature.
To check your coolant levels, lift your car's hood and be sure that it's secured. Then locate your coolant reservoir, and make sure that the water level is between the minimum and maximum levels.
Also, watch out for any symptoms of a coolant leak such as a sweet aroma coming from your car, or puddles pooling under it.
If you need help identifying a problem or getting a refill on your car's coolants, take it by our shop today and we'll get it checked out.

Have a fun and safe Halloween! 🎃
Enjoy! 🍂☕🍁
Each car, like each person, is unique and takes different types of fuel to get them going. This depends on the make and model as much as it does the weather outside! When it's cold outside, the most recommended oil to put in your engine is synthetic oil. That’s because synthetic oil has better viscosity than conventional oil under low temperatures.
If full synthetic oil won't work for your engine, you can use a synthetic blend which combines both synthetic oil and conventional oil. Even so, you should read your car's user manual to be sure which oil is appropriate for your vehicle.
Christian Brothers is here for you if you need an oil change, or have any questions on what oils would be best for your car at any given time!

#TipTuesday 💡 Your wipers don't need to get this bad before you change them. 😅 A lot of folks don’t know that their wiper blades should be replaced after 3 to 6 months, depending on where you live and how often you use them. If you live in a place where there is frequent rain, this is even more vital - in Texas, usually wipers last longer. Those who live in snow regions should also switch to winter blades during the colder months. Regardless of where you live, getting new wipers at least once a year will go a long way in keeping you and your family safe when it rains.
You should also thoroughly clean your wipers whenever you are washing your car. It won’t take more than 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can do it at the gas station while filling your tank. It's the little things that help maintain you and your car's overall safety.
If you need to switch out your old windshield wipers, bring your car by CBA today and we will make the upgrade for you! 👍
