Of course we said yes - so Wed the 9th of Sept we will hold another drive at 5940 Bethelview Rd from 8 to 2:00 PM. We are giving each donor a certificate for a free oil change to and you will also receive a coupon for a free car wash at Aqua Blue Car wash and a free cup of coffee or pastry from Rendezvous Cafe. So just google Red Cross and look for 'Locations to donate near me' and you will see our location on the 9th of Sept. The Red Cross has a critical need for blood right now! We are holding a blood drive tomorrow - July 30th!! Every person who donates will receive a Free Oil Change from us plus a Free Car Wash at Aqua Blue across the street, and free Dripped Coffee or Pastry at the Rendezvous Cafe! The Red Cross is having a critical shortage of blood right now so we wanted to do our part to help out. They cannot use their buses as there is not enough distance inside to meet requirements, and donations have been far short of what is needed nationwide. So we teamed up with our Neighbors at Crye-Leike and we will be holding a drive from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at their office (5959 Bethelview Rd). Another car donated to help needy families! This 2009 VW Passat needs a new engine (if you listen to the video you will cringe as the rod knock is tremendous..!). It is not worth the expense so the CBA home office has come up with an alternative. This car will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go into a fund to repair other cars that can be donated to needy families! As CBA shops nationwide participate, the goal is to fix cars at cost and have our collective family of shops donate hundreds of cars a year! A safe and reliable vehicle can drastically change the lives of a family that has no means of transportation - and we are so happy to help the cause! So thrilled to get our new guest outdoor chairs and table and support Vision Warriors. Now our guests can relax outside while waiting on their vehicles, and this super heavy-duty furniture will be here for a VERY long time!! Vision Warriors ministry provides addiction support and vocational training and transitional housing to men who are struggling to overcome addiction. This organization has changed countless lives and restored families and marriages. Cant say enough good things about Ken and his team at KG Cleaning Service. They refinish our linoleum floors every year and their work is absolutely top-notch. Ken is a fellow Rotarian and I trust him completely. They came on a Saturday so as not to interrupt our normal work days and I just hand him the key and ask him to lock the door when he is done. I don't worry about anything - I know when I return on Monday the floor will look amazing. He also did my area rug, reconditioned my leather furniture and did a fog to kill any viruses. If I could give 10 stars on Google I would! Give them a call if you need carpeting or hardwoods or tile cleaned, stains removed, carpet stretched. You will be totally satisfied with the quality, the professionalism and the price!
I've got to brag on the guys here again because their compassion for others never ceases to amaze me. Ken Bauer is one of our lead techs and he volunteers his time staying overnight with families enrolled in the Family Promise program. He noticed that Casey, one of the single mothers had a Jeep in dire need of repair. He asked to have it brought in and we discovered two completely bald front tires, the rears were not the right sizes, the front brakes were completely worn out and the rear brake cylinders were leaking, it was overdue for an oil change, 1 headlights and two side-marker lights were out and the valve covers were leaking. Ken volunteered to do all the work for free, and two of our other techs Chris and Mike volunteered to stay late one evening and help as well. James approached Ben and Diane Harris from Free Chapel Church in Cumming and they donated $500 to help with parts. Dave Harden from the State Farm office right behind us told me to contact him if we ever had a person in need. He donated $250. Cody, the manager of the AutoZone in Cumming gave us special pricing on the parts as well. In the end, the guys replaced all 4 tires, fixed all the mechanical problems, even repaired the dent in the front fender! At no cost to her, Casey now has a safe vehicle for herself and her two little girls ! I love these guys!!
So what are the chances of having two totally tricked-out 2015 Jeep Wranglers in the shop at the same time? It's a his and hers and the two owners are not related or attached in any way. Pretty incredible all the work that has been done to these. Ken has been doing all the work to the yellow one for years, and we have done a lot on the gray Rubicon over the past month or so. Is anyone looking for a stock Rubicon hood to customize your Wrangler? We have one for sale!
How often do you have two awesome 1968 convertible muscle cars in the shop? An original untouched Shelby GT-350 and a beautiful 396 Camaro! We've done a lot of work on both - and both are owned by amazing guys who have been great to work with. Love that both of these very cool cars are driven a lot on the street so people can see and hear them drive by!
If you are looking to donate toys to needy children in our area, we are a drop-off location for the Holiday House. The Place of Forsyth puts this event on every year which is expected to provide holiday joy for over 2000 children this season. With the effects of the pandemic still at play, they anticipate an even greater number of families reaching out to Holiday House for assistance. Your help will make all the difference in providing holiday joy and cheer this year. Toys can be dropped off up until the 17th of Dec.
Well the amazing people of Forsyth County did it again. On Tuesday I gave a Honda Accord to a single mother of three who was in need of a hand-up. I cannot give her name as she is currently with Family Haven, a shelter for battered women. She bravely chose to leave a very bad situation with absolutely nothing to her name, and has been doing everything right. She secured a job and has been paying for daycare for one child, and has ensured the other two attend school every day. Her only limitation was that she could not afford a car, and as such has been walking to work each day, rain or shine for the past 90 days. The lack of transportation severely limited her ability to leave Family Haven and secure a place to live for her family and find a job outside of walking distance. So Family Haven generously paid for her tax and registration and title, but due to some past incidents her insurance is $1900 per year even with just the minimum coverage and no collision. She has not asked for any help – the car donation was a complete surprise and she feels very blessed. But I put the story out on Focus on Forsyth and within just a couple of days the incredible people in this community paid for her first year's insurance. When she found this out she about buckled at the knees. There was not a dry eye in the lobby on Tuesday when she saw the car and got the news about the insurance. The guys here even collected $200 for a gas card to get her started. On top of that, Main Source Collision took out a dent in the back of the car for free too! The people in this community never fail to amaze me... This is a life-changing gift to someone bound and determined to make a new life path for herself - and I thank all of you that contributed in making this happen.
