Dr. Christopher A. Crisera is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in microvascular surgery, with an emphasis on breast reconstruction, oncologic reconstruction, lower extremity reconstruction, as well as aesthetic surgery of the breast and facial aesthetic surgery.
Dr. Crisera is the Director of Microsurgery and Executive Medical Director of Operation Mend. Dr. Crisera has been involved with Operation Mend since the program�s inception in 2007. He has written extensively about microvascular breast reconstruction, is regularly published in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented at national and international research conferences.
After graduating from Harvard in 1990, Dr. Crisera earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego and matched into the general surgery program at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his residency in plastic surgery at UCLA, where he stayed on to complete an additional subspecialty fellowship in microvascular surgery before joining the faculty as an assistant professor in July 2005.
