CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System joins the local medical community in mourning the unexpected loss of a great man and physician. Dr. Craig Manifold was considered both a local and national leader in emergency medicine and emergency medical services. Much of his work has improved EMS systems around the country. He leaves behind a tremendous legacy and will be missed by many. We are praying for Dr. Manifold’s family, friends and colleagues.

Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio - CCVI founded Santa Rosa in 1869, when they were called by the Catholic bishop of Texas to "care for the multitude of sick, infirm and orphaned in the Texas frontier." Because of their bravery and love for others, we are able to continue their mission today. Sr. Angela Clare Moran, pictured below, was the last Sister CEO of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, serving from 1969 - 1970 and from 1972 - 1986. During her tenure, Santa Rosa was recognized as the largest Catholic hospital in the country. #ThrowbackThursday

We strive to live out our mission daily to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. That is why when leaders at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – Alamo Heights heard that some students at Las Palmas Elementary could not afford their own water bottle, the hospital decided to donate bottles to the school. It is always a pleasure to show kindness to the community that always supports us! 💜

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System understands the importance of administering COVID vaccines to those who need it most, including our vulnerable populations. That is why we are working so hard to vaccinate people who fall into Phase 1A and Phase 1B as defined by the State of Texas.
However, to ensure the distribution process does not overwhelm both our community members and our hospitals, we encourage people not to walk up to our hospitals for vaccine clinics.

In honor of Heart Month, SWBC has partnered with the American Heart Association (AHA) and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System to engage our employees in our corporate Share the Love Campaign. In February, SWBC employees will participate in a variety of virtual heart-healthy initiatives and will "share their love [notes]" with friends, family, and others in their community, including front-line staff at CHRISTUS who are working tirelessly.
Also, congratulations to SWBC President and Co-Founder Gary Dudley on his appointment to the AHA of San Antonio Board of Directors; and SWBC Chairman and Co-Founder Charlie Amato is now Vice-Chairperson of the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care Corporation Board of Directors.
