Today we performed our first Trans Carotid Artery Revascularization (#TCAR) implant – the only hospital in Northeast Texas that offers this procedure! Emma and Lilly were born at just 28 weeks and treated in the NICU at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Tyler for more than 80 days. Dr. Brenda Morris and Renee Gray, NP (two of the CHRISTUS TMF providers who helped treat the girls) attended the ceremony to support the family.

Our 16th Annual Festival of Trees silent auction is well underway! Individuals and businesses in our community, as well as many of our hospital departments and clinics have decorated and donated these beautiful trees, wreaths, and centerpieces for this silent auction fundraiser for our CTMF Foundation! The trees are on display in the CHRISTUS Louis & Peaches Owen Heart Hospital Whitney Cafe dining area until the final bidding at 2pm on Wednesday, December 9!
Their numbers, names, and who they were decorated and donated by are on the name of each picture!
We will overcome COVID together. CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances frontline staff and physicians began receiving the first round of the two-dose COVID-19 vaccine today. The first dose of the vaccine will be administered over the next several days, and the second dose will be given in 21 days. While we are excited to begin this process in combatting COVID-19, we want to remind all to continue to wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene, social distance and avoid large crowds as precautions to stop the spread of COVID.
Hope has arrived! CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances is excited to receive the #COVID19 vaccine this morning and will begin administering the vaccine to frontline staff and physicians who have chosen to participate.
The use of vaccines has been a key part of combatting and even eradicating certain diseases for generations, and we hope this process represents the beginning of the end of COVID-19.

Yesterday, we performed the very first Fenestrated Endovascular Aortic Repair (#FEVAR) in East Texas right here in Tyler!
The case was performed by Dr. Jones and his partners from the Christus Vascular Surgery Institute in our state of the art hybrid operating suite. This technology offers a minimally invasive treatment option to our patients with more complex abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) that involve the kidney and mesenteric arteries. The procedure can be done through two small puncture sites in the groin and patients often go home the next day. Way to go team!
