A huge thank you goes out to Sedgwick, for the gift of our new X-ray equipment. This is actually the first brand new X-ray machine Church Health has ever had! Our first two machines were hand-me-downs but we had to move on from our previous machine because we could no longer find replacement parts. So overall this is a tremendous blessing and upgrade for Church Health and all of our patients that will utilize our X-ray services. They depend on us, and we depend on generous partners in the community, like Sedgwick, to provide the work we do every day.
This machine was dedicated on Oct. 19, 2020. Pictured here are David North, Executive Chairmen from Sedgwick, and from Church Health: Dr. Scott Morris, CEO & Founder; Jenny Barlett-Prescott, COO; Lorrie Gibson, X-Ray Technician; Anna Joy Tamayo, Executive Assistant; and Emma Forrest, Development Associate.

A safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine can dramatically reduce infections and lead us on a path to recovery. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in partnership with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, locally, and the National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Defense, and many others, nationally, is part of a nationwide effort to develop a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine with the goal of delivering initial doses by January 2021.
Ensuring this vaccine works for all will require participation by a diverse set of volunteers that represent a variety of ages, races, and health conditions.
Many people mistrust vaccines and clinical trials because of a history of intentional mistreatment of participants and unethical practices. Much has been done to improve safety and ensure trials are meeting ethical standards. In this webinar, we will cover the latest in the vaccine trials, the historical context around vaccines, and how we can come together to build a vaccine that is safe and effective for all people.

We all know smoking tobacco is bad for our teeth and mouths. Smoking drastically increases your risk for oral cancer, causes more dental plaque, causes bad breath, and an increased chance of gum disease.
But that’s why e-cigarettes were invented, right?
Sorry, but no.

Here is another common question we have received around COVID-19 Vaccines:
Q. What happens if I only get one dose?
A. After about two weeks, your immunity to COVID-19 will reach about 50 percent. Without a second dose, it will remain at that level rather than go up to 95 percent. (Source: Pfizer data)
Have a specific vaccine-related question? Feel free to leave it in the comments or send us a direct message. We will address it as soon as we can!
