Lip reading is an important aspect to communication that even people with normal hearing rely on. During this time, that has been difficult for everyone due to face masks covering the mouth. If you or a loved one would benefit from a clear face mask, I found one on Amazon that may help. The reviews look great! One person did say that it was no longer anti-fog after washing, so keep that in mind. We hope this helps! If you need anything, as always, we are here to help. We asked our patients to talk about their experience with CHC and here is what they had to say: "Number one, I did not believe in my wildest dreams I would ever hear this well. I'm hearing noises and voices I didn't even know were in my everyday life." "Everyone is so caring. The doctors take their time to listen to yours needs. And most important, because of their caring you know they're there to help, not just sell a hearing aid." We do care, deeply! We are here for each and every one of our patients and we are so grateful that we can help. From all of us here at Cincinnati Hearing Center - thank you so much to everyone. We really do have the best patients in the world.
Did you know: Sound waves as low as 20 Hz, and as high as 20,000 Hz, can be picked up by the human ear? As we get older, more and more of those high frequencies are difficult to hear - known as presbycusis or "age-related hearing loss". Early signs of age-related hearing loss are: 1.) difficulty hearing the television/ phone 2.) increased trouble hearing women and children 3.) saying "I hear what people are saying, I just don't understand them" 4.) ringing or buzzing sounds in the ear, known as tinnitus. If this sounds like you, schedule today for a full hearing evaluation! Call 513-598-9444 to be seen by one of our audiologist, you'll be happy you did!

As we enter the Dog Days of Summer; sweat, humidity, temperature, and moisture are on the rise. Here are some tips and tricks to help keep your hearings aids dry and performing their best. - Avoid leaving your hearing aids in the car. - Make sure you have a storage case. - Don’t leave your hearing aids in the sun. - Clean your hearing aids after use. - Dry your ears after swimming. - Get a dehumidifier. - Get your hearing aids professionally cleaned. Water-resistant does not mean waterproof. If you have water resistant hearing aids, it’s worth pointing out that there’s no such thing as a truly waterproof hearing aid. However, hearing aids can be water-resistant. Such hearing aids can protect against water damage and are more durable. Still, that doesn’t mean you should expose them to danger if you can help it. For example, if you take a shower while wearing your hearing aids, they should be fine. However, a long dip in the pool or beach excursion might result in some damage. Water-repellent coatings and lithium-ion batteries make your hearing aids more durable, but they don’t make them impervious. Full immersion in water can be dangerous to the devices. As we enter 2021, we reflect on the past year with hopeful recollection. For many - this year was one of, if not the most challenging years ever. With it, there was so much to be grateful for as well. Enjoy this video and have one more laugh with us this year, because we all deserve a bit of "Happy" as we say goodbye to 2020. We also are saying "see you later" to Kimberly at our Batesville location as she enters retirement to spend more time with family and loved ones. Kimberly will be missed but we are so thankful for all of her help! From all of us at CHC - HAPPY NEW YEAR and stay safe! We will see you all in 2021.
