Thursday Trivia ~2 part question: approximately how many gym wipes and how many gallons of hand sanitizer does the Club go thru in a week? Top 10 closest answers wins a t-shirt/towel/beach bag gift set!
We believe in having fun and we can't forget how important it is to recognize the 30 year accomplishment of the Club. Today, on the 30th of the month, the team celebrated with our anniversary t's. Did you know that only 11% of small business reach this milestone? Our mission has always been to provide members with the pleasure of an active lifestyle enhanced by professional staff who have a desire to serve. Each and every day we strive to make a difference in the lives of others from the warm welcome to the find farewell. We are thankful for our member community and will continue to be a trusted steward for your health, fitness and social needs.
Going above and beyond for the safety or our members active lifestyle ~ repurposing space. The rec gym (found in front of the treadmills on the way to the group ex studio) has been converted to more strength training space. Suzi gives you look at the space and all the equipment available.
See your Club thru a new lens and all the options available to make your active lifestyle a priority.
Top 3 Facts About Air Movement at the Cincinnati Sports Club. Last Thursday, the Cincinnati Sports Club sent out a very informative email to the members of the Club about the air movement in the facility. Not all indoor facilities are the same and it is important to be able to informed of the differences so members and the community can make the best decisions for themselves about their active lifestyles. Here is a link to the email - https://conta.cc/30M4e4m - containing information about air turns every 1.5 - 3 minutes compared to the CDC recommendations of every 10 minutes, fresh air dampers opened to 50-60% level since February 2020 as part of the Club's pre-established pandemic preparedness plan (compared to the CDC recommendation of 20%) and the 24/7 continuous run of the HVAC system which is far different than your home. We care about the members and the community and that is why we go above and beyond - in many ways! The assumption by a handful of physicians that health clubs and fitness centers are poorly ventilated needs to be debunked.

Top 3 Facts About Air Movement at the Club
Last week's trivia answer! Some of you were close and some not so close. But everyone who attempted wins so message the Club to arrange for prize pickup. Adult poolside trivia continues on Thursdays in October so we will see you poolside on this sunny Thursday!
This is not a magic trick ~ rather an actual depiction of the force of air return vents pulling air out of the building. CDC defines a well ventilated facility as having an air turn every ten minutes. The Club has complete air turns every 1 1/2 - 3 minutes depending on what part of the workout areas you are in. Once again, the Club is exceeding expectations to ensure member safety. Together we can be active and safe. (this video is taken on the strength training area of the main workout floor).
Lunch hour at the Club! We've got spinners, sun tanners, workers and pickle players all enjoying a Wednesday in October at the Club.
What is the Club like now? Club usage is about 59% of what it was last year at this time and peak times no longer exist because we all have different schedules now. What we do have is a caring team of 200+ and a caring member community enjoying the benefits of an active lifestyle in a well ventilated facility that exceeds the standards of excellence. Not all gyms/businesses are the same. Our unique differentiators are our spacious campus, low density Club with a stewardship to your safety and care. Member guests are welcome and shower/locker facilities are open.
A team of 200+ returned to the Club to do everything possible to ensure the safety of our members. We not only take care of those we serve, we also take care of those Who serve. Brad answers the frequently asked question about safety both simply and honestly. As a father, husband, son, brother and a steward to our members for more than 27 years, Brad is one of many who strives to make a difference in the lives of others each and every day.
Today is a good time to sit back and listen to the words and heartfelt messages from our members, read by the team. Members have been extremely supportive of the Clubs efforts during these uncertain times as we continue to help members enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle ~ including physical, mental and emotional. Thank you for your heartfelt messages.

Coming in for a strength training workout? Go Right when you get to the fitness area and head to the repurposed Rec Gym. More space to spread out while boosting your immunity. See you at the Club!
How fast does air turn/cycle at the Club? Pretty darn fast! In the workout areas and group ex studios, we get full fresh air turns every 1.5 - 3 minutes. And this all happens because the fresh air dampers are open upto 60% and the HVAC system is on continuous run. Just to compare ~ CDC recommends every 10 minutes. It takes the average home 90 minutes for an air turn/cycle and a new study shows it takes 6 minutes on an airline.
ICYMI ~ the numbers show how great the members are doing! Wiping down surfaces before and after use and sanitizing their hands frequently. Since reopening in June, we have had 10 self reported cases (0 in September) and ZERO contract traced to the Club campus or spread to anyone on campus.
Club halloween activities kicked off this past Saturday. 27 members met on the trailheads and made their way to 50West on a beautiful day for the Zombie ghost run/walk. Coming up this week is adult halloween poolside trivia on what is forecasted to be a great Thursday and this Saturday after you get your flu shot return for Family Trunk Or Treat!
What is it that you miss? For those who have returned maybe it is the energy of the Club or your group ex classmates. For those staying home, maybe it's the music, motivation, or a friendly staff smile. Maybe you have moved away from the Club or found another career path. We are all doing the best we can and the Club will strive to be a source of inspiration for your active lifestyle. (These statistics are from an industry study)
A new six-week session of indoor pickleball (aka Lawn Pickle) starts on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 1:30pm. Lots of room to spread out and swing your racquet. Contact Brent to register in advance.
Outdoor Spin With Robert! This Halloween Saturday at 10:30am kicks off a new 50-minute Saturday feature. No tricks here but we will serve treats. Enter thru the outdoor rig gate after self scan check in at the Front Desk. Wear layers to shed as you spin. Space is limited to 15. Must have active membership to participate.
One of the most FAQ's we get is about Club usage and if members are getting/reporting covid. Our fact check through September shows that indoor Club usage is about 55% of where we were last year. With everyone having varied schedules, there are no peak times and members are safely distanced. Members do report to the Club if they have covid and the 12-step contact tracing shows ZERO traced to/or spread at the Club. Members are spread out amongst the indoor and outdoor workout environments and are distancing and wiping down equipment before and after use. You all are doing a great job and we THANK YOU!
Thankful for our outdoor spin instructors offering 6 classes a week. New addition ~ back to back classes on Saturday with Robert at 9am & 10:30am. Register online/app/call. Space is limited. Dress in layers to shed thru the workout. Access the spin tent via the outdoor rig after checking in at the front desk.
Thankful for an expansive 16-acre campus that provides members with a year round active lifestyle both indoors and out. We've added another outdoor spin class this Saturday (9am and 10:30am) in addition to the four classes Monday thru Friday. To have all the opportunities is not always easy but it is worth it. With choices come options. With options we learn new skills and find passion. With passion we overcome adversity. And each and everyone of you, your health and your families are worth it!
Thankful for this perfect pairing ~ a fabulous forecast with an amazing outdoor pool that is still open. We may be on repeat but it's all about spreading the good news.
Thankful for fabulous November weather that keeps the adult only outdoor pool and hot tub open! This week's forecasts highs in the 60's and 70's. As long as this weather holds up we will keep this outstanding campus feature open. Normal hours apply. Help spread the word by sharing, liking and commenting! See you at the Club.
Giving thanks to those who have and are supporting the Club. As a small business, your commitment and generosity has been overwhelming. We cannot thank you enough for the kind words, encouragement, adherence to our safety standards, patience and understanding. To those who have returned, you have once again entrusted your care in our hands. To those who have yet to return but still continue to pay full dues, you are helping us each and every day. To those who have reduced membership, thank you for believing in the future. There are many ways to support small business ~ and that is by helping us spread the word of what we do. Like, comment, share often. Our members have made this longstanding success together possible by referring family and friends to enjoy the experience. The power of referral is stronger than ever now. Staying Open ~ the adult only outdoor pool and hot tub will remain open based on this week's weather forecast. Everyday members are enjoying outdoor lap swimming in the heated pool and relaxing in the outdoor hot tub.
See you at the Club!
Members ~ please check your email today for an important update from the Club and our action plan to remain open. Based on a court order from May 2020, the governor does not have that authority to close the club nor impose fines against the business. If we did not feel it was safe to be open, we would not be open. Since February 2020, the Club has been exceeding both the governor's and CDC guidelines for the safety of our members, staff and guests. The governor's decision making regarding fitness centers is based on misguided information. Combing sports with fitness centers for contact tracing purposes and not separating these two venues is detrimental to health clubs in Ohio. We can and have easily maintained 6ft distance while sports cannot. History, data and science indicates the club is safe. There have been no covid outbreaks at health clubs in the state of Ohio that we know of. Less than 10% of the states population are currently members of a fitness center. Exercise is medicine and is beneficial against the fight of viruses like covid and the flu.
Thank You! This week we are thankful to our partners at Huntington National Bank. In a time of crisis, we all learn a lot about ourselves and who our friends are. As the saying goes "tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are." And we learned what we already knew: our friends are wonderfully caring people.
In the season of thanks and giving, please keep our Thanksgiving Food Drive and holiday giving tree in your hearts and thoughts. We humbly request that members donate food items for the YWCA's domestic violence shelters. Our legacy of member generosity is sure to put a smile on many faces. The need is greater than ever.
Is there a better place to be for the next two days? Sunday and Monday the bar at the adult outdoor pool will be open until 8:30pm (opens at 2pm on Monday - special hours added because of weather forecast). While the video says October, we've got the pool open until at least November 15. Enjoy a 12:15pm Monday outdoor spin or other group class/workout and then head to the pool. So much to enjoy on campus and we are thankful for the extended season opportunities that this weather brings. Share this to spread the word.
Thankful for weekends where we can enjoy a little bit more of the finer things. Head over for a morning workout or a group class including two outdoor spins with Robert today and then make a day at the adult pool! Reconnect with friends poolside or gather with fellow fans and watch the games outdoor at the bar. Evening games warm up with the fire pit, hot tub and deck heaters. And don't forget all the racquet court options and fitness trail connecting to Murray Ave. (Adult outdoor pool open thru Nov 15 and then we will update based on temperatures)

The Club has decided to cancel the polar bear plunge scheduled for Thanksgiving morning based on the updated orders from the governor.
The Club will close at 10pm everyday in compliance with the 21-day state wide curfew.
See you at the Club!
Steps in the right direction! Members everyday are boosting their immunity safely at the Club. In accordance with the verbal order of the Ohio Governor, the Club will be closing at 10pm every night. We know how important the next 21 days are and are encouraging members to not linger after their workouts. A recent study from the Mayo Clinic confirms that those who maintain physical activity are less likely to contract the virus and if contracted they are less likely to be hospitalized. Check out the Club website for a Covid-19 Data and Study summary with links to national and global studies.
Active Club Members - an email update was just sent out. We want to first thank you for your commitment to the Cincinnati Sports Club. Together as a community we have been able to stay safe and healthy during the virus. We greatly appreciate your efforts to keep our Club safe. We are requesting from Governor Mike DeWine that properly run Health Clubs remain open. If you would like to add your voice - you will find contact information in the email to share how you have used the Club and how you have kept safe and healthy during the pandemic. Please explain in your own words and be personal. We ask you to shed light - not heat on this situation. It is our understanding that the Governor will be making an announcement this week.
In the season of THANKS and GIVING, we give thanks to those who have and are supporting the Club. THANK YOU MEMBERS! Our legacy of member generosity continues as more than 30 Thanksgiving Meals ~ from turkey to all the sides and dessert ~ were assembled for the YWCA's domestic violence shelters. The need is greater than ever and the members spirit of giving is deeply appreciated.
Settling in for a SHORT winters nap. We look at April 2021 as a month of hope and anticipation for the adult only outdoor pool to reopen! Today's sunshine melted the snow off the chairs and umbrellas as we began packing the memories of 2020 pool season away and in less than 4 months, we will look forward to an extended outdoor season.

Recent study from the Mayo Clinic confirms that maintaining physical exercise reduces the likelihood of contracting the virus, and if contracted, reduces the likelihood that hospitalization would be required. It is now more important than ever to boost your immunity. The Cincinnati Sports Club is a leader in the health club industry when it comes to air quality, air movement and maintaining 6ft distance with the expanded campus providing options for both indoor and outdoor year round workouts. Choose experience. Choose professional. Choose local.

The power of community! Today, the Club received a very generous donation for the John P. Parker Elementary School giving tree ~ more than 100 books from the Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati. Members can participate and bring all items back to the Club by Monday, December 14.

You Are Worth It! Decisions are made continually for the safety of members and staff and we keep moving in the right direction for members to enjoy their active lifestyles at our professionally run Club. More online classes are available, outdoor spin classes continue in December (5 options a week), and we have group fitness classes offered 100 times a week (the more we offer we can reduce the density and increase flexibility with your schedules). The Club will continue to keep the state wide curfew hours of 10pm closure through December 31 and there will be no holiday guest privileges from December 21-January 3. We make each of these decisions carefully with member and employee safety as the top concern. If a staff member approaches to remind you of 6ft distance from others or to wear your mask, please adhere to the member safety standards that have allowed us to remain open and provide a safe venue for those who need an active lifestyle for their physical and mental health. You are worth it!

Very important reminder! We have been doing everything to communicate in advance so you can plan ~ from weekly email, website and internal Club signage ~ this is for the safety of Club members and staff. This is one of the harder decisions that we have had to make as historically this has been the busiest two weeks for guests at the Club. Thank you for the understanding.
The Club continues to monitor daily usage broken down hour by hour. With this information, comparisons can be drawn to prior years at the same time. Here is a summary of November 2020 usage:
· Busiest days in November are 65% of last year usage (November 2019)
· There are 35% fewer people in the Club compared to November 2019
· Higher density weekend hours are Saturday from 9am-1pm
· Higher density weekday hours are Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday from 4pm-6pm
The Club is confident that together we can continue to be active and safe with the safety measures that have been taken including increased workout space by 30%, maintaining 6ft distance, good air quality and ventilation with full air turns every 1.5 to 3 minutes in the workout venues.
While overall usage is down compared to 2019, there are many quieter times in the Club and numerous workout areas with low density. Consider a time outside of the higher density times and visit the expanded areas for your use. If you have a question about usage patterns or areas at the Club, simply contact the Club.
A great depiction of how important it is to take care of yourself.

The Club has put together a 3 page document with summaries of the data and links directly to each of the source files. And we are okay if you disagree. We simply ask that you take a look at the information that has been collected nationally and globally. What has been learned is that you can be safe when properly distanced and in a well-ventilated facility - both of which the Cincinnati Sports Club has accomplished since February of this year.
One recent study is from the Mayo Clinic confirming that maintaining physical exercise reduces the likelihood of contracting the virus, and if contracted, reduces the likelihood that hospitalization would be required. It is now more important than ever to boost your immunity.
The Cincinnati Sports Club would not be open today if it was not safe. Take a look at https://www.cincinnatisportsclub.com/covid19-data-studies.

Exercise is not just about the physical. If exercise has positively affected your mental health, give this a LIKE
Coming Soon to your Club! The new 40-yard outdoor synthetic turf will enhance the member experience. From private training to kids birthday parties to morning sunrise yoga and more HIIT classes. The team is putting together a great schedule of creative activities for all ages to enjoy.
The first of three core safety standards at the Club is distance. When you can maintain 6ft distance from others you can be active and safe. The Club has historically been a low density Club and the variety of workout environments naturally distance members. We have taken the additional steps of blocking off equipment, moving equipment and creating new workout spaces. The continued execution by members and staff show that professionally run clubs are safe and part of the solution. See you at the Club!
A new day, a new week and a new month ~ and we inch closer and closer to more excitement at the Club. Member guests are welcome at the Club (one per adult member per day) to enjoy all the fabulous amenities indoors and out. Speaking of outdoors ~ the turf for the new 40 yard outdoor field has arrived and should take about 2 weeks to install. And in 2 months, it will be April and that means the opening of the adult only outdoor pool. We look to announce an official target date as we get closer. We ask everyone who visits the Club to continue to adhere to the safety standards. We are still at ZERO cases traced/contracted/spread at the Club! Your efforts will continue to keep you safe! See you at the Club!

Shout out to these two! For three straight days this week during some of the highest accumulations of snowfall, Amber and Gabe opened the Club on time each morning at 5am! Their commitment to plan, prepare and arrive as normal (even in the most extreme road/weather conditions) is because of their willingness to serve. Weeks like this week and the efforts of everyone is what makes the Club life a unique and professional experience.
All clear for our member family and employees again today! After 31 years, these are routine habits that come naturally. A safety reminder as the temperatures fluctuate today, freeze thaws on pavement can happen and we do continue to salt. Walk carefully!
Who Are We? We are a company who shows up day in and day out. Even on days like yesterday, the Club opened on time, every employee/department arrived and opened as scheduled and activities and classes took place. What makes us different is our culture. One of knowing that our members depend on us to be here ~ regardless of the weather. We plan in advance, stay late, show up early, leave our homes extra early all for you ~ our member community. We are a professionally run, locally owned and managed Club that strives to make a difference in the lives of others.
Just some of the crew that makes it all happen ~ clears the parking lots, makes the walk ways accessible and shovels the outdoor rig. It is all worth it ~ we do it for you and we will keep doing it all week long.
A post-shovel recovery workout for you today.
The Club is Open and ready for you. The crew has done it once again by clearing the walkways, parking lots, fitness trails and all access areas. Classes are on as scheduled. If you have a reservation and are not going to make it, please call the Club to cancel and free up the lap lane or class spot for another member. Thank you!
There is a lot to look forward to at the Club! It's time to spring forward to new beginnings. Gather with friends and family at your own private adult pool event, throw a birthday party or wedding shower outdoors on the new turf, get in the action with Pickleball and more courts, and expand your outdoor workouts with more group ex/HIIT options. All coming soon to your Club. A Club who believes and pursues constant improvement and enhancing the changing member experience.
OPEN and on time again this morning. And yes, there are members working out!
Making exercise a priority. Planning is part of success and creating daily habits contributes to positive outcomes. The Club will remain open until 10pm tonight as scheduled.
What will you do to keep your active lifestyle on track this week?
Holiday reminder for Monday, Feb. 15 ~ No Guest Day at the Club.
