GLEN ELK AFFORDABLE HOUSING:
Construction continues on the 36-unit affordable housing project for seniors in the Glen Elk district of Clarksburg. The Glen Elk Apartments will be located at Werninger and North Fifth Street in the district. The project consists of one building, containing 36 units, four stories in height. The Glen Elk Apartments project will include an office, tenant lobby, elevator, as well as parking both on and off-street. The housing complex encompasses a 1.04 acre parcel.
The project’s construction is continuing despite “wet and difficult conditions”, according to the developer, Steve Sadd. The building’s foundation has been laid and the building is currently being brought out of the ground.
Sadd continued, “The City of Clarksburg was very helpful as we applied to secure funding for the project and during the planning, review and permitting process. We enjoy doing business in Clarksburg, everyone is very energetic and action oriented”.
City officials expressed their enthusiasm towards the project and the value it brings to the City of Clarksburg. City Manager, Martin Howe stated, “It’s exciting to see the construction in full swing with the excavation already taken place. Then the footers have been paved which have been the foundation for growth”.
While the City’s MS4 Director and Zoning Officer Adam Barberio explained his excitement to see the growth in the Glen Elk District after working hand in hand with the developer during the planning, review, permitting and inspection processes. “It’s great to see the development coming into the city, and it’s a great addition to the area as the City is working towards revitalization”.

The Part-time Janitorial/General Maintenance Worker will perform cleaning of our office building and general maintenance repairs including plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the office.
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Must be able to pass drug test.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry and repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time.
