Neil Mulchandani, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon for arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine, and the founder of City Orthopedics in Chinatown, New York City.
He completed his undergraduate studies a the University of Pennsylvania. From there, he returned to his hometown of New York and attended State University of New York Downstate School of Medicine. During this time, his passion for orthopedics began as he worked diligently with the orthopedic department in significant research endeavors. Dr. Mulchandani went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Downstate, where he served as chief resident during his final year. It was here that he developed a strong foundation of both general orthopedics and orthopedic trauma.
With a desire to continually refine his skills and expertise, Dr. Mulchandani went on to complete a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he trained under renowned surgeons in the field. In addition to expert clinical training, Dr. Mulchandani served as a team physician for Bronxville High School and Manhattanville College men’s and women’s ice hockey team. In addition, he served as associate team physician of the New York Jets professional football team as well as the New York Islanders professional ice hockey team.
As a native New Yorker, Dr. Mulchandani takes pride in helping patients get back to their daily lives. Although City Orthopedics sees a wide range of conditions, Dr. Mulchandani’s special interests include fracture care, cartilage preservation and restoration, ligament reconstruction, complex shoulder and knee conditions, and arthroscopic surgery.
Outside of his career as an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Mulchandani enjoys hiking, economics, traveling, playing basketball and soccer as well as spending time with his wife, son, and golden retriever.
