Improper disposal of masks and gloves can be hazardous to the environment. When discarding, be sure to do so in a secure trash bin, do not leave in shopping carts, and snip straps/ear loops of single-use masks to prevent animal entanglement. If possible, invest in a CDC-approved fabric mask to lessen waste created by single-use ones. *Avoid masks with valves as they do not provide proper protection!* Together, we can make a difference!

Last Tuesday’s heartbreaking events in Atlanta are just the latest in a disturbing wave of violence targeting Asian people. At the start of the pandemic many Asians, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders began experiencing COVID-related racism. This has led to a sharp increase in anti-Asian hate crimes, many of which have targeted the elderly. One of our own doctors took his feelings from the events and put them to paper. The result, a beautiful poem that speaks to the sadness, anger, and fear being felt by so many at this time. We wanted to share this powerful excerpt. #stopasianhate
