Exciting news! We passed our AAHA Reaccreditation!
On Tuesday, officials from the American Animal Hospital Association toured our clinic to assess if we could continue to be an accredited hospital through their network.
They inspected the facilities, our medications, the doctor's medical notes, our medical equipment, and most importantly....the protocols we have in place to ensure all of our patients are given the highest quality of care.
We are proud to remain a part of the only 15% of veterinary hospitals in the United States who are accredited through AAHA.
On to bigger and better things!
Yesterday was sadly Sam’s last day as our Lead CSR at CLCVC. She has accepted a management position at another veterinary hospital, which has been her dream for awhile now. While we will definitely miss seeing Sam at the front desk every day, we are excited to see her thrive in her new role.
Sam has worked here for over 6 years and many of you interacted with her on a daily basis. She wore quite a few hats in the clinic besides her duties at the front desk including holiday decorator, event planner, and just keeping things running smoothly in general! She helped many of you with all stages of your pets lives...from scheduling those first puppy/kitten appointments to helping you make it through those terrible days when it was time to say goodbye to your best friend. She has always loved the clients and their pets and worked hard everyday to make sure their experience with us went as smoothly as possible. We sure will miss you, Sam!
Please make sure to leave any stories or well wishes for Sam in the comments!
Great news! Starting Monday, September 28, we will be re-opening our lobbies and exam rooms to clients while still offering the option of curbside. We appreciate you being patient with us as we kept our lobbies closed over the past few months and we are excited to have you back in the exam room with your pets.
If you would like to come inside for a normal appointment:
-Please make sure to let us know when scheduling so we can ensure a room is available to minimize wait time.
-Masks are required at all times while inside due to local & state mandates.
-Please limit the number of people coming in to 2 adults or 1 adult with children due to our smaller exam rooms.
-If you are feeling sick or have been around someone who is sick, please be sure to reschedule or have someone else bring your pet in.
-5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time, head on in and check-in at the front desk! Please follow proper social distancing guidelines while in the lobby.
If you would like to stay curbside for your appointment:
-Just park in one of our numbered parking spots and call/text the number on the sign!
-A technician will retrieve your pet from your vehicle and you will still be able to speak with your veterinarian over the phone.
**Please note: As we have been for the past several months, we will continue to properly sanitize all areas of the clinic to ensure a safe environment.
Due to the street flooding in areas near 45, some of our staff and clients are having trouble getting in today.
In case of more rain this afternoon, we will be closing at 4:30 to allow our staff to get home safely before it gets dark out. We plan to re-open at our normal time tomorrow unless the weather prevents us!

There is a strong connection between animal abuse and domestic violence. 71% of battered women reported that their abusers threatened or harmed their pets, as well, and 40 percent of those women delayed escaping an abusive situation if it meant leaving a pet behind.
To address this problem, a team of #TAMU #CVM veterinary students created Aggies Fostering Hope to help local domestic abuse victims—and their pets.
This program, created by 4VM Hunter Greer and 3VMs Melodie Raese and Jamie Foster, will provide an invaluable resource to local pet lovers. Under SAVMA, it will also give future classes of CVM veterinary students a great way to serve their community.

Deputy Z. Alam and his canine partner Vito have been working together for nearly five months. They are the only handler and K9 team trained to find electronic devices like cell phones. They primarily work inside the Harris County jails looking for cell phones and narcotics.
"Being able to grow as a team with your dog is a feeling like none other. A dog, he looks up to you for everything. He looks up to you for food, for water, for guidance. For everything. So, the dog is your best friend and you're basically that dog's best friend,” Deputy Alam said.

This male dog was found last Saturday at the Marquis at Clear Lake Apartments. He does not have a microchip or a collar, but he is healthy and happy.
The person who found the dog was hoping to locate the owner without bringing him to the shelter but had no luck. If you know his family, contact Webster Humane Services at 281.316.3700. #WebsterRescues
