We all know truss uplift can be a problem at the intersection of ceilings and interior walls. Is there a way to install crown molding so that you don’t see a paint-line reveal when the ceiling moves?
"Start by installing the first piece of flat trim stock to the wall. Then, before installing the triangular nailing base, nail or screw the second piece of flat trim to the back of the triangular nailing base. Next, install the triangular nailing base by nailing it or screwing it to the ceiling. Finally, the crown molding can be installed, using longer finish nails at the top of the crown, and very short brads at the bottom. Since the crown molding is fastened to the ceiling not the wall, some truss uplift movement can be accommodated between the two pieces of flat trim stock."

What’s the best way to attach a dishwasher to a granite countertop?
Using 3/4-inch-long screws is perfect for most granite countertops because, well, most countertops have a 3/4-inch buildup on the edge!
All you have to do then is place a wood base to accept those screws. Drill the holes into the underbelly of the granite, and then insert plastic anchors with epoxy, to accept the screws.

The groundhog saw his shadow! Is anyone else thinking of a relaxing warm night on the patio?
Truly amazing what storm damage can do.
This is an amazing concrete tub from a fellow general contractor. It weighs over 800lbs, had to be set with a telehandler and the house was built around it.
The tub with the filler and drain was $12,000 not including installation. This particular house also features a $9,000 toilet.
It's a beut.
