Welcome to Collier Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center. We are dedicated to the care of the musculoskeletal system, specializing in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, shoulder and rotator cuff problems, ACL and meniscus tears, and shoulder, knee and hip replacements. Our mission is to provide the latest and most current treatment to our patients, most of whom can be managed non-surgically. When surgery is indicated, we specialize in the most advanced, cutting-edge, minimally invasive procedures to help our patients get back to their desired level of activity as quickly as possible.
Dr. James Guerra, founder of Collier Sports Medicine, also serves as the Medical Director for Arthrex, Inc., the world's leading sports medicine medical device company. This unique exposure allows Dr. Guerra to bring the most advanced techniques to his patients here in Naples. Most surgical procedures are performed as a outpatient services. Physical therapy starts within the first few days of surgery with a customized exercise program designed to improve strength and range of motion. We have a state-of-the-art physical therapy center with board-certified physical therapists, all of whom have achieved masters or doctoral training.
Dr. Guerra serves as Head Team Physician for Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). However, you don't have to be a Heisman Trophy winner, the Cy Young Award winner, or own a Master's green jacket to be a patient. Although we take care of many superb athletes, most of our patients are recreational athletes, weekend warriors, tennis players, golfers, and those in need of joint replacements who want to maintain their healthy and active lifestyle.
