This customer was going out of town for a few days so we coordinated to get the job done so they would return to a comfortable home.
They were identical until the one on the left died... Replaced Lennox condenser with an 18 SEER heat pump in Concord. Customer is looking forward to the right one having the same fate!
Job in Acton wanted an upgrade. Replaced with a York condensing furnace and converted his old r22 AC to 410A. Job came out working like a dream!

This was a Bosch GB142-45 that had gained and would have been too costly to repair. So, we replaced it with this beauty and this customer was able to enjoy a $2,750 rebate!! Bottom line, the replacement became cheaper than repairing an 11 year old system.
Before and after. Munchkin boiler failed prematurely. We replaced it with a wall hung Lochinvar to maintain the same footprint. This was a friend of a friend and this customer had thanked our mutual friend several times since we installed this system.
A few suggestions to help you get past these arctic Cooks snaps:
1. If you have faucets that traditionally freeze, make sure you drip them to keep water flowing.
2. If you have other sources of heat - wood stove, fireplace, etc. In the same room as the thermostat, turn the heat up higher. If the thermostat is warm enough to turn the heat off for hours at a time than you could get frozen pipes.
3. Turn the thermostats up a little higher than normal and press hold. Heating equipment can have a difficult time recovering the household temperature once outside gets too cold.

Just a reminder to always service your system on an annual basis. Not only was this a carbon monoxide hazard the system was not heating. On cold nights like this weekend, this is not a good thing.

A few things that may help save you some aggravation:
Check and clear any outside sidewall exhaust if you have them for your boiler or water heater
Clear any snow from your gas meter to prevent freezing
Clear away any snow from your heatpump systems so that airflow can move freely.
Don't let your boiler thermostats drop to low, they may have trouble recovering in this temperature. Keep at most at 3 degree swing.
