Established in 1979, Columbus Hospice is based in Columbus, Ga. The center serves people of all ages who have a life-limiting illness and their families. It is a community-based, nonprofit center providing individualized respite care, nursing and hospice services. The center offers a wide range of services for city residents, including social services, medication for terminal illness, medical supplies and equipment, and physical, occupational and speech therapies. Columbus Hospice also provides several support groups and home health aides to serve the patients. The center also provides dietary assessment, symptom management, pain management and bereavement counseling services. Columbus Hospice is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
