Keep a Close Eye on Your Meniscus Tear (http://ow.ly/QFfL30mgTLA) A meniscus tear can happen after a sports-related injury. Many athletes experience this injury after a long offseason. When the tear is small, it usually does not require surgery. It may be a simple form of treatment that includes icing and elevating the knee. When a more severe tear occurs, you will experience instability. These more severe injuries require surgery and more custom-treatments. The muscle needs time to fuse back together. After a surgery, give yourself 3-6 months to fully recover. #meniscustear #sportsmedicine #sportsinjruy
Exercising for Health - Not Weight Loss (http://ow.ly/4ttm30mgTLy) A study published in the International Journal of Liberal Arts and Social Science discovered that a woman’s motivation to exercising plays a vital role in her health. For example, women who exercised for weight loss did not experience a difference in progress than their peers who exercise for overall health. It was found that when a woman exercises for her overall health and wellbeing, her quality of life is usually better due to an active routine and better health stats. #WomensHealth #HealthTips #FactFriday CRAIGDAILYPRESS.COM Memorial Regional Health: Exercising for health, not just for weight loss — Women who exercise for overall health benefits experience a better quality of life, research shows
Unexpected Muscle Pains May Have a Source (http://ow.ly/tek930mgTLu) Muscle pain is not always caused by a sports injury or work injury. Many muscles pains are caused due to overexertion, trauma to an area of the body and viral infections. These traumas to the body manifest themselves much differently than a traditional sports injury. Stress can cause muscles to become week. Taking good self-care is an excellent way to ensure your body rests when needed and does not overexert itself. #musclepain #chronicpain #sportsmedicine MEDICALNEWSTODAY.COM Muscle aches: Causes, home remedies, and prevention
