Chris Spurlock 8 hrs · We have already asked so, so, so much of our frontline healthcare workers, but with vaccines beginning to roll out as early as this weekend, I think it's crucial to ask one more thing: Share your vaccine story. Explain the process. Photograph yourself receiving your first dose. Post about going back to get your second dose. Explain any symptoms you get after the shots. And continue to model safe behavior (masking, distancing, etc.) even after being vaccinated. There is already an enormous amount of hesitancy surrounding this vaccine. This is understandable. Fear and apprehension are normal. It's OK to be nervous. But, as medical professionals often say, "Vaccines don't save lives, vaccinations do." And the only way we overcome the public's reluctance to be vaccinated — and thus end this pandemic — is if enough people get vaccinated. Seeing trusted friends and loved ones receive the vaccine will help assure people that it's safe and beneficial. As with everything in this pandemic thus far, it's up to US to help see this to an end. And this is one small way to do just that.
