When Does it Make Sense to Pay a Bill with a Credit Card?
You might have thought monthly bill paying is easier by using a credit or debit card, and it can be a great idea if you do it right. You can rack up #rewardspoints, build your credit score, have payments post quickly, get purchase protection and track your spending. But….you can also push your credit utilization too high, and end up with big interest charges if you can’t pay the credit card off in full each month. Depending on the bill, there may also be a fee for using a card, and you likely won’t be able to charge your rent, mortgage or car payment. Be careful with which bills you pay and keep your credit card paid off and keep your debit card account balance high enough and you can enjoy the rewards and convenience easily!
It’s game time - Give our brainteaser a go! Post your answer in the comments section by 11:59 pm Sunday 9/27 for a chance to win a $25 Amazon e-gift card. We’ll post the answer and randomly select the winner from all correct answers on Monday 9/28. Good luck!
