Let’s talk about death certificates...
Before, we would file the certificate (either manually or electronically) and the state would register the death certificate. When the certificate would be registered, we would drive downtown to the state building on 8th Street, walk into a small room and receive the certified copies that we would hand deliver to the families.
Now, things have changed.
That “room” is now closed and shut down. All death certifcates have to be filed, registered and applied for in a digital manner. I don’t want to bore you with technicalities, rather try to convey to the community an extreme delay in receiving certified copies....maybe up to one month after the certified is registered.
We are really not sure. This is all new. The way we are using the states system to manage certificates are out of our control.
Stay connected to keep updated. Thank you.
