Meet Dr. Galpern
David Galpern, MD, takes pride in providing the best experience and optimal results to his patients at Comprehensive Hand Surgery Center in the West End of Richmond, Virginia. Conveniently located near Interstate 64 (Exit 183-Parham Road) for patients in the Tidewater or Piedmont areas, as well as those from Fredericksburg to South Hill, Comprehensive Hand Surgery Center offers a full suite of surgical and nonsurgical treatments for individuals throughout the greater Richmond area, including the West End, North Side, South Side, and East End.
Dr. Galpern specializes in diagnostic care and treatment of issues affecting the hands, wrists, and arms, including arthritis, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s contracture, ganglions, carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), paronychia, fractures, and sports-related injuries such as tennis elbow. His office also has X-ray and fluoroscopy facilities on-site.
A board-certified hand surgeon, Dr. Galpern is dedicated to providing the entire continuum of hand, wrist, and arm care on-site at Comprehensive Hand Surgery Center. He uses his extensive training and knowledge in surgical and nonsurgical treatments for traumatic, degenerative, and repetitive strain injuries (RSIs). Patients can rely on him to guide them through the medical process, from prompt and accurate diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation.
Dr. Galpern earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn. He completed a residency at New York Methodist Hospital, also in Brooklyn, followed by a hand surgery fellowship at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, Kentucky. A second-hand surgery fellowship took him to Australia, where he trained at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Queensland.
Dr. Galpern has practiced in Richmond since 2011.
