About

Conchita Espinosa Academy is a fully-accredited, co-educational independent private school for K3 through eighth grades. For over 80 years, Conchita Espinosa Academy has given its students an exceptional academic curriculum partnered with a sophisticated arts and humanities foundation, sensitivity to the arts and human needs, a sense of self-worth, and strong human values.

For over 80 years, Conchita Espinosa Academy (CEA) has followed founder Conchita Espinosa’s vision of education, which consists of a solid academic foundation coupled with an immersion in the arts and humanities from an early age. CEA’s intimate environment supports our students’ development and helps them grow to become well-rounded, creative, and confident individuals.

Curriculum

Conchita Espinosa Academy provides children with a complete education, which extends beyond traditional schooling, in order to create well-rounded, whole individuals.

Conchita Espinosa’s method of education was based on her belief in the power of the arts to transform, enhance, and stimulate young minds. The integration of the arts and traditional academic subjects continues to be the core of the school’s curriculum today.

Throughout the school day, character education takes place, and students are engaged in an environment that fosters the development of self-discipline, respect for self and other, and empathy.

Summer Camp 2019 - Registration now open.

Summer at CEA continues Conchita's philosophy of providing flexible options for integrating your child's summer with creativity, adventure, and intellectual and artistic growth. Students have the option of participating in three- or six-week programs through a variety of experiences.

Our ten-acre campus with its state-of-the-art theatre, multiple dance and music studios, art studio and kiln room provide the perfect environment for students to engage their passions and talents. Programs under the direction and supervision of our own professionals are designed for students to develop and enrich their talents, spark creativity and wonder, and provide the time to delve deeper into their spirits. All programs include outdoor, organized play and water fun. CEA is where to find the best art summer camp Miami has!

1st Grade is getting ready for a safe return to the CEA campus next week! To prepare, the three first grade classes spent time this week talking about hand washing, social distancing, and some returning to school safely. Yesterday they discussed the importance of 😷mask wearing and how they keep us and others safe. Then they made a mask for their stuffed animal friend! #morethanaschool #experienceCEA #firstgrade #lowerschool #safetyfirst #privateschoolsinmiami #miamischools #miamiprivateschools #independentschools
3rd and 4th grade students are working on Abstract Symbolic Self-Portrait inspired by Sandra Silberzweig. Today, Mrs. Rodriguez took her class outside for reading time. After each student found their “reading spot,” following social distance guidelines, they picked the giant book they wanted to read and spent some time enjoying the wonder of books outdoors. When we give our children the gift of being bilingual, we are allowing them the chance to have a better understanding of themselves and their community, opening their eyes to new ideas and ways of being, and broadening their horizons for life. Their brains are being exercised and their hearts are being opened. Last week, 5th grade finished the first unit of their new Spanish book, “Espacio Joven.” They are working on the verbs ser, tener, and llamarse and further developing their writing in Spanish with Mrs. Espinoza-Valls. #morethanaschool #experienceCEA #CEACommunity #onlyatConchita #bilingualstudents #bilingual #Spanisheducation #Cervantes #Spanish
Conchita Espinosa Academy fosters a love of learning and creativity, a sense of integrity, and moral courage. Our students grow into well-rounded, creative, and confident human beings with healthy bodies, curious minds, and strong civic, spiritual, and cultural values. We help them follow their passions, build friendships, and learn to embrace change. At present, we have transitioned to online instruction and will offer in-person or hybrid learning options as soon as responsible decision making will allow. Your child’s interests and imagination will be their only limits at Conchita Espinosa Academy! ENROLLHAND.MOVINHAND.COM Developing Lifelong Learners

3rd Grade is learning about plants and their structures. Students conducted an experiment with celery, water, and food coloring. The purpose was to understand how the stem works. 7th grade has been studying ancient Egypt with Mr. Valhuerdi. Mr. V asked them to each design a pyramid of their own, in which they would be buried with everything they would need for an eternal afterlife, imagining themselves as pharaohs during the Old Kingdom period of Egyptian history. Students were given complete freedom to design the pyramid as they wished, and the results were amazing! Some created pyramids sculptures with items they had at home, others drew pictures, and some even created their pyramids on Minecraft! Featured pyramids (in order): Sebastian L. Gabriella S. Chloe V.
