The #SECUREAct passed just days before Christmas! Two areas affected include required minimum distributions (RMD's). If you turn 70 1/2 in 2020, you can now delay your RMD to age 72. However, if you inherit an IRA or 401(k) from a parent (or essentially someone other than a spouse), the account must be withdrawn within 10 years, rather than over the beneficiaries lifetime. Check out the potential impact, and plan on a visit with your Estate Planning Attorney and Financial Planner in 2020 for any updates needed to your plan...
