Happy #NationalGoodNeighborDay from CIMG! Investing in our communities and loaning where we live have always been important core principles in how we conduct our business. We count ourselves lucky to live in such an incredible community!
Up next, we'd like you to meet Malia Shelton! She's only been a part of the CIMG team for 2 months, but she brings over 30 years of mortgage experience to the table. As an Underwriting Liaison, she works with our loan officers, processors, and underwriters to put the pieces of each mortgage puzzle together. Although she was born in the desert, her first love is the ocean. Her husband often says of her, "You would rather walk on the beach than eat," - and it's no surprise that you'll most likely find her walking around her home on Hatteras Island π.
#CIMGGivingBack is, well, back! Last week, a few of our CIMG staff members braved the rain storm to deliver groceries to older community members with Inter-Faith Council for Social Service. This is a difficult time for both those on a fixed income AND the local nonprofits in our area, and it's a pleasure to offer support where we can. Don't forget - you can donate both food and funds to IFC to help with deliveries in the future!

Time for a little mortgage lending vocabulary lesson!
The annual percentage rate (or APR) is a measure of the cost of a mortgage at a yearly rate. The APR is higher than the interest rate on your loan because it reflects the real cost of getting the loan - including points, mortgage broker fees, and other charges which you paid. The use of APR prevents lenders from advertising a low rate while hiding fees - then borrowers can compare loans in a straightforward way.
If you have any questions about APR and how it might affect your mortgage, head to our website to connect with a loan officer.
We are so excited to announce our first-ever #CIMGWellnessWednesday!
Like we prioritize investing in our communities, it's more important than ever that we invest in our physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. We hope you'll join us as the CIMG team takes some time out of each month to focus on our health and happiness.
Today, we're thinking about vigorous exercise as a life-extending practice. The CIMG team LOVES to break a sweat, whether it be through running, yoga, HIIT sessions and more. How are you getting your heart rate up today? πͺ

We love this incredible new mural of Elizabeth Cotten by Chapel Hill artist Scott Nurkin.
Elizabeth Cotten was a legendary NC folk-blues singer, songwriter, and guitar player; and you can view the mural on the Chapel Hill-Carrboro line at 111 N. Merritt Mill Road (behind Crook's Corner).
