To cap off the Summer, 32 residents from Covenant Living of Florida participated in the Summer Shape Up 50K Challenge with the City of Plantation! Residents were challenged to walk, run or exercise for at least 50 km (31 miles) during the month of August. 28 of the resident participants not only completed the challenge, but exceeded it, walking a total of 2,186 combined miles! Jeannie and Pete Tingom (pictured) exercised for a total of 300 and 194 miles, respectively! To everyone who participated in the Summer Shape Up 50K: way to go!

Community partnership at its finest! Residents of Covenant Living of Florida came together to contribute supplies for the Harvest Drive Organization, which provides food and toiletries to Broward County School District families experiencing crisis. Also included in their care packages were handmade bears, a product of a recent Create-a-Bear class at the community.
Next up in our resident artist spotlight: Gyanne Smith! After studying at the Atlanta Art Institute on an art scholarship, Gyanne graduated & went into commercial art, where she held multiple jobs in the art industry over the years. When she retired, she took up watercolor and entered many shows. Her pieces on display at our Resident Art Show include “Resort Living,” inspired by postprandial relaxation with a friend around the Covenant Living pool, and “Covenant Fisher Boy,” a watercolor of a statue overlooking the campus pond.
