This bus radiator has seen better days. We had to fabricate a new bottom frame (it is a crossflow), and repair the top frame (new weld nuts and spacer). With a new core its like new again.
This is a radiator for a 1985 Peterbilt truck. We fabricated new framework to replace the cracked and fatigued aluminum framework. We also replaced all the gaskets and fillerneck, made some minor repairs and tested it.
With the cold weather comes customers having problems with their vehicles heating and cooling systems. Both of these vehicles were having issues with poor heater performance. We isolated the heater cores and flushed them. Since the systems were so heavily contaminated we also flushed the rest of cooling system. Both vehicles left with heaters working great and cooling systems ready for sub zero temperatures.
These are a few of you radiator recores we did yesterday, painted them this morning.
Phil ended up getting quite a bit of time into repairing this radiator for an old Minneapolis Moline tractor but it's good as new now and ready for many more years of work.
Radiator from a 4880 Massey Ferguson tractor. The customer had it to 2 other radiator shops in his area over the last couple of years for overheating problems. Both of those shops flushed it instead of pulling the tanks like he had requested. This time he brought it to us which is over a 150 miles one way. This is what we found, over 60 percent restriction. Now its good as new and ready to go farming again.
