Prior to opening her first florist shop in 1954, Aline Creech made arrangements for friends from her car trunk. This soon became an almost impossible task because she was working full time at the "Cigar Factory" and almost full time making arrangements for her fellow employees. At some point in 1954, the opportunity to rent a small building presented itself. This was the beginning of Creech's Florist. Some years later, Mrs. Creech bought the property on which the small building sat, as well as the building in which the florist is now located, which was formerly a motorcycle shop. In 1972, Mrs. Creech's daughter Nella Peele came on aboard. Nella and Bob Peele now own Creech's. In 2004, Mrs. Creech's great grandson, Raleigh Beasley, came to work with his grandparents at Creech's. Raleigh has a bachelor's degree from Clemson University in business management and hopes to continue the traditions established by his family of exceptional flowers and superior customer service. Nella and Bob's children are still involved with the florist. DeeDee and Patty, their daughters, come in on holidays. Both DeeDee and Patty are elementary school teachers. Bob is a retired High School football coach. Nella and Bob's son, Bo Peele, will always hold a special place at Creech's Florist. Bo passed away in 2000, but not before touching Charleston with his gifted floral talents. Bo was a winner of the SC Designer of the Year award. His love for flowers was matched only by his love for children. He was also a gym teacher at Goodwin Elementary. Bo is dearly missed by his family.
