http://creeksideanimalclinic.net - Welcome to Creekside Animal Clinic, the Norton headquarters for animals in need! Our staff is dedicated to providing the best quality care available. We specialize in all facets of pet care and we provide drop-off services for special needs patients. (and boarding is coming soon!) We even make house calls! Our office is located on the corner of Rts 261 and 21. In addition to Norton, we serve patients in the surrounding neighborhoods of Wadsworth, Eastern Medina County, and Akron.
As we continue to navigate the most efficient way to provide the quality medical care each patient deserves, we want to take this opportunity to enforce our policy of having appointments arrive 5-10 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time. This allows for each pet to be checked in and any administrative tasks can be taken care of at this time. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment you may be asked to reschedule, or you may be charged a work in fee of up to $75 for your pet to be seen outside of the scheduled appointment slot. Emergency cases always receive top priority, followed by scheduled appointments. We thank you for your continued trust in us to provide the best service for you and your furry family.

Here are some tips for safe travel with your furry loved ones! If you are traveling by car: All cats should be in a crate or carrier. Dogs can be either in crate or carrier, or restrained in a special harness that attaches to the seat belt. If you use a pet barrier in the back seat or deck of your SUV, be sure it is sturdy and firmly attached so it does not collapse on your pet. Never allow your pet to ride in the front passenger seat (especially one that is airbag equipped). Never let your pet out of the car without proper restraint. Don’t allow your pet to ride with their head out the window; they could get hurt by flying debris. Never leave your pet alone in a parked car. He or she will be vulnerable to heat stroke or theft. If you are traveling out of town, stop regularly so that your pet can stretch his legs and have a drink of water. For more tips visit, https://www.redcross.org/get-help/how-to-prepare-for-emergencies/pet-travel-safety.html

To go along with pet poison prevention month, our first and most common toxin, chocolate. The darker the chocolate, the more toxic it can be. There are also many more factors when dealing with chocolate toxicity. Is there xylitol in it? This is also toxic to dogs and cats. How much was ingested and the size of your pet are good things to know. While 1 Hershey kiss would have little to no effect on a Mastiff, it may be life threatening to a Chihuahua.
