About

Crossroads Health serves those in need of mental health care and recovery support—at all ages and stages of life. We offer a spectrum of services, treatment, support and programs to the residents of Lake County.

Because the stigma of mental health has lessened over the years, we’re seeing more people and families open to reaching out for help. It takes courage and we’re here for you!

As a community-based 501(C)(3) nonprofit, we help any member of the community with a range of services, including early childhood services and in-school coaching, outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, substance abuse programs, services within the criminal justice system, and support care to families and caregivers.

Our work happens at one of our five main locations, or in homes, schools, detention centers and community centers. Our multidisciplinary staff of more than 250 people—psychiatrists, social workers, mental health specialists, counselors and educators—is passionate about offering the broadest range of care fit to the unique needs of each individual.

Our in-home early head start program focuses on pregnant women and children from birth to three years old. When kids get older, in the classroom, our trauma-informed approach is geared toward creating a strategy that best suits the student in need and the class as a whole.

Client-centric care for adults means we will be at the home within hours of a hotline call, offering assessment, safety planning and crisis planning to keep the patient in the home, if possible. Home is where they usually do best. With substance abuse, there’s a correlation between childhood trauma and the mental health issues that lead to addiction, so we address the root causes and help put people on a path to healing.

Struggling with mental health? Call Crossroads for information, 440-255-1700; or for crisis care, our hotline is 440-953-8255.

Welcome Scott A. Knapp, LPCC-S, LICDC-CS, our Supervisor of AoD Outpatient Services. Scott was supervising an Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT) team at another agency and was hired specifically to transition the team to a stronger AoD (Chemical Dependency term, "Alcohol and Other Drugs") emphasis, in addition to mental health. In late May, Kenyon Mau reached out again to Scott to discuss an opening with us. Since that time Scott says, "I can't imagine being happier or feeling more 'at home' and 'fit' with my team, my peer colleagues, and the philosophy of the agency in general."
