At 3:15 p.m. on December 31,2019 I (manager at Cut-Rate Auto Repair in Lapeer,MI) received a call from Friendly’s dealership located in Lapeer , MI.
A guy from Friendly’s dealership was on the phone “ Do you have a tow truck bringing in a truck that is suppose to be dropped off here “ ?
I stated “ Yes , he should be there momentarily with it “.
His response was “ Well he is here and he has been ran over by the truck he was unloading ” .
The man had a frustrated tone in his voice . My heart sank as I proceeded with questions as anyone would . “Is he alert”? , “Is he breathing “?As he cut me off and said “ He is fine you just need to send your guys out here .
He is being unresponsive to us and is now in the tow truck . He was just hit with the whence “ .
So within thirty seconds the story changed significantly and he hung up .
I sent help immediately to go over there and be with him as I assumed EMS was already called.
As our other two employees got to “Friendly’s ” our tow truck driver was screaming in an agony of pain and begging for help to call 911 as FIVE of “Friendly’s “employees set and watched and DID NOT CALL 911 AT ALL which we were oblivious to  . I had no clue if he was alive or dead during the call .
Friendly’s dealership however; had the audacity to put the truck inside their garage , so they could continue on with repairs as needed . .
Meanwhile; the tow truck driver had a punctured lung & four broken ribs. The tow truck driver was left in the snow in the middle of their parking lot ..
He got the truck off of himself by pushing with his back and drug his self inside the tow truck in attempt to get his phone out of the flatbed to call EMS himself . Friendly’s” not only tampered with evidence of the scene by pulling the truck in he just got ran over by . They failed to call 911 AT ALL for whatever unknown reason and called his employer instead . The four cameras that were pointing toward the accident happen to be not working at the moment .
I am saddened and in disbelief that any human, let alone FIVE of “Friendly’s “ employees whom we have dealt with significantly upon the years , refused to call for help when he was begging in agony of pain .
While accidents happen and no one is blaming or saying “Friendly’s” did this ,the characteristics of Friendly’s really show ...
In conclusion , Friendly’s is not so friendly ..I’m in disbelief still today , shaken up , and couldn’t be more thankful he is Alive . The tow truck driver will be okay with lots of healing and prayers . Thank the good lord for watching over him .
