This is why it's important to properly torque the phaser bolt on Fordโs 5.4L 3v engines, 30ft lbs then an additional 90 degrees. Now this new Ford phaser is destroyed and they are next to impossible to get right now being on National backorder.

Customer asking why his oil was so dirty when he changes it every 3k miles.. I had to break it to him that the shop he was taking it to was not changing the oil filter for the last 15k miles or so. This filter was so plugged up the pleats sucked in, twisted and were rock hard from all the heat cycles. Eventually they became so brittle it tore open as shown here.

Never attempt to remove ice from your car by dumping a bucket of water on it. Warm or hot water could cause the glass to crack due to thermal shock. Even cold water is a bad idea because it could freeze on contact, making your problem even worse.

This is one of those common coolant leak points you want to watch out for on 2011-2014 F-150 and 2015-2017 Expedition Vehicleโs. On Ecoboost equipped vehicles it may appear to be a coolant leak at the turbo.

I have diagnosed a few vehicles in my day where this seemed like the only option! ๐ซ๐

This one knocked the head off the lash adjuster, wiped the cam and of course popped out one of the valve keepers.
Danger! Itโs sad to see so many 11th gen F-150โs scrapped for rotted out frame rails.

It may still be winter but at D&E it's springtime!
