D. Jakubek & Assoc. Inc. began providing drainage and landscaping services to the north shore area of Chicago starting in the spring of 1975 (40 Years Ago as of Spring 2015).
Our landscape designs are based upon the Jens Jensen School of prairie style landscape architecture. This style uses indigenous plants in groupings that place you in a natural environment. This style is timeless and relaxing to one’s spirit when scaled appropriately. We also maintain and renovate existing outside environments. Our very experienced and trained pruning technicians use the drop crotch method of pruning. This skill level keeps our clients landscapes looking natural and under control. Nature will work for you when you understand and know how to work with it. When we need to trim we use only hand shears. We are very skilled at preparing properties for sale and work for many realtors. Better skills make for better results.
Drainage is a major problem of the north shore due to the extensive amount of surface covered by buildings and pavement. We specialize in accessing and developing a plan to solve all types of issues. We are the leader in innovating the use of available modern materials into existing systems. We have the skills needed to make old systems work again. We commonly work on 100-year-old systems as well as drainage problems caused by a much larger home being built adjacent to one’s property.
