With the support of Dagom Ladang, the residence and monastery of the 12th Kyabje Dagom Rinpoche in Kathmandu, Nepal, Dagom Geden Kunkyob Ling was established in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2016. H. E. Kyabje Dagom Rinpoche?s deepest wish was to teach the dharma purely and to preserve it for the benefit of all sentient beings. As such, Dagom Geden Kunkyob Ling honors this renowned Tibetan Buddhist Master and is dedicated to the preservation of the Buddha?s teachings through the lineage of the great Master Je Tsongkhapa who founded the Gelugpa tradition in the 15th century. The monastery?s presence reflects not only the blessings and generosity of our monks, board members, lineage masters, lineage protectors, sangha members and dharma friends but also the financial generosity of Venerable Lobzang Dorje who founded the monastery.
As such, Dagom Geden Kunkyob Ling is a monastery dedicated to the study and practice of Buddhism in central Indiana. Its presence unites residents of central Indiana with other Buddhist practitioners who study and follow the Gelugpa tradition around the world.
People come to the monastery to study and practice Lam Rim (a stage on the path to enlightenment), to engage in various Buddhist practices and rituals as they have been transmitted by our great lineage Master in order to gain spiritual realizations, and to participate in spiritual retreats.
All are welcome to visit Dagom Geden Kunkyob Ling monastery for teachings, which we offer without charge. However, offerings for the support of the monastery, its teachers, and its translators are appreciated and represent a form of generosity which is customary in the Buddhist tradition. All financial contributions to the monastery are tax deductible.
