About Robert J. Henderson, MD
Robert J. Henderson, MD, is a board-certified spine surgeon who welcomes patients at his practice, Dallas Spine Care, in Dallas. Dr. Henderson has over three decades of experience helping patients with chronic back and leg pain. He treats the full range of spine conditions, with a specialization in helping patients with histories of failed or ineffective back surgery.
Dr. Henderson follows his patients for at least three years after significant surgery. Over time, he’s become convinced that almost all failed back surgeries can be corrected. He has also discovered that the primary reason for chronic leg pain following back surgery is due to inadequate decompression. His extensive experience has taught him that the most common reason for unresolved back pain is the failure to identify all the underlying reasons for the pain.
Dr. Henderson has an excellent reputation for successfully treating the most complex cases that other doctors don’t want to take on, and he offers hope and pain relief to patients who’ve been told their condition isn’t treatable.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Henderson completed spine fellowship training nationally and internationally. He was certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgery. Dr. Henderson also maintains membership in numerous professional organizations, including the North American Spine Society, and the Texas Medical Association, and he’s a board member and Fellow of the American College of Spine Surgery and Fellow of the American College of Surgery.
Dr. Henderson remains involved with clinical studies dedicated to finding ways to improve the outcome for patients with acute and chronic back and leg pain. He’s often invited to speak and demonstrate surgical techniques around the world. To support other professionals in the field, he has written chapters on surgical techniques that were published in several orthopedic and neurosurgical textbooks.
