How do you measure 25 years?!! In amazing memories, inspiration, performances, teamwork, laughs, travel, digging deep when times got tough, lots of support, and so much joy. All of the people who have made DAA “who we are” are forever in our hearts. From a tiny 1 1/2 room rental with 10 CDT Dancers over the City Opera House, to now - our “forever home” on Garfield Avenue, thousands of Dancers and Families have helped us to grow! We have been safely open for 14 weeks without a case of Covid in our building. We’ve invested thousands in safety protocols, sanitizing systems and HVAC units that kill disease. Our Community has been kept safe thanks to YOU and the masking and distancing of our dancers & faculty.
Due to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services recommendation to “pause", we will remain open for all classes in person for today (Tuesday, Nov. 17th) and beginning Wednesday, November 18th, we will be moving all classes to our online Zoom Platform. Zoom #’s are the same as they have been all season.
Next week is our scheduled Thanksgiving Break. After this break, we will continue with our Zoom Learning until we are given the green light from the Health Department to come back in person. We are hopeful that this date will be December 9th, as they have stated.
Diva Dancewear will continue to be open and curbside service is available. Please support local businesses during this challenging time.

This Nutcracker has been such a gift. We started work on it in our June zoom classes, and rehearsed outside & in a hybrid setting as well as in the studio. Every day that we got to work on it felt so joyful. When we lost our 2nd Theater due to the Pandemic, we quickly moved to turning our studio into a stage (with fabric from storage!) to film this production. We rearranged everything for it to happen. For more than 100 + dancers & families! Each group was magical. We are so proud of the resilience, talent, inspiration and dedication from everyone that made this happen. We can’t wait to see the film we’ve made & the professional pictures. Until then, here are a few pics from my phone. Thank you everyone! We will never forget this “Nutcracker Reimagined”!

Enough is enough! We have had NO COVID-19 cases in our School for the 15 weeks we were allowed to open. Indoor Youth Sports, High School Sports, as well as travel, malls, salons, movie theaters, casinos, bowling & more - all allowed to happen. Our dancers & studios are being discriminated against. We feel it is because we don’t have a voice in Lansing. You can help us by sending a message to Governor Whitmer’s Portal. Dance is so important and we could use your help to take this opportunity to let our State Government know this. Our dancers have sacrificed SO MUCH. It is SO disheartening to see Sports, etc. be allowed to get back at it (as well as all of the Dance Studios from every other state) & our dancers are not offered the same consideration. So proud of Marin Weber on her acceptance into the School of American Ballet Jr. Summer Intensive - she was accepted into both in person in NYC & virtual intensives at SAB. 100’s of dancers auditioned for just a few spots in this World Class Ballet School. Marin takes 8 Ballet classes a week as well as all other dance disciplines @ DAA & has been training with us for the past 9 years! We are so happy for you, Marin! Congratulations! 💫💛
