As a board-certified rheumatologist who sees both adult and pediatric patients, I have a broad range of expertise in rheumatic diseases, including lupus, vasculitis, gout and rheumatoid arthritis. My research interests are similarly broad and primarily concern epidemiology and health services research through my appointment in the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.
I spend a lot of time with each patient so that I can fully understand why they’ve come to see me. I take my patients’ problems seriously and never dismiss their issues. I use the information I gather through testing, examination, and discussion to offer options for treatment that will best address the patient’s condition and meet their goals.
I enjoy the intellectual challenge of rheumatology and I like working with people. Working directly with patients is the most rewarding aspect of my job.
