It is only 17 days until Election Day! Have you registered to vote? Want an absentee ballot? Want to know where your polling place is so you can vote in person? This website has all the information you need! It is too late to register early, but you can register at the polls on Election Day. Just bring a photo ID and a piece of mail with your current address on it. You can order an absentee ballot until October 23, and there is early in person voting at the county courthouse until October 30.
You can check your voter record, see if your absentee ballot has been mailed, and if you have already submitted it, you can see if your vote has been cast. All you need is your name and birth date to log in.

This pandemic has been hard on everyone. One of the issues that has increased is food insecurity. The Idaho Food Bank has seen a huge increase in families needing assistance with feeding their families. Every year the Idaho Food Bank gives out around 1,000 boxes for Thanksgiving. This year their fund raising and food drives have been hampered by the pandemic. We here at Allstate are trying to help the Food Bank prepare for the Thanksgiving distribution by holding a food drive of our own. We have committed to gathering 720 cans of corn. Cans can be dropped off at the Orthel Agency, 4650 Hawthorne Road Suite A, or the Shaffer Bates Agency, 1155 Yellowstone Suite A. And, to help everyone out, Nel’s Bi Lo is having a case lot sale this month.

The Orthel Agency takes the health and safety of our customers and employees very seriously. Starting October 30, 2020, we will be open by appointment only. Today we had an extra office mascot. Meet Yeti. He is Sonny's brother and helped us bark at, oops, I mean greet customers.

The office mascot, Sonny, hasn't been in for a couple of weeks. Meet the substitute mascot, Daisy! She enjoys snacks and ear scratches. And she is just as good at greeting customers as Sonny is. Office dogs are so fun!
Attention Idaho drivers! The Hands Free mobile device law went into effect on July 1, 2020. As of January 1, 2021, drivers will now be cited and fined for violating the law. How much are these fines? First offense $75 plus court costs. Second offense in 3 years, $150 and court costs. Third and subsequent offenses in 3 years, $300 and court costs. Is that text, Snapchat or phone call worth that much to you? Get out the Bluetooth or the ear buds it you need to take that phone call. This is your PSA from your local insurance agent.
